My mom has a disability and needed a wheelchair to get around DW, so we opted to rent a car rather than deal with the buses. She remembered to take the handicapped sign (that you hang from the rearview mirror of your car) along for the trip. We stayed at WL and used valet parking to make the comings/goings easier for my mom. To our surprise, the CMs did not charge for valet parking because of the handicapped sign! We made sure to tip them well for all of their help...

Thanks for the reminder about valet services.
Some of the resorts have handicapped parking that is quite a ways from the building, so it's nice that they do provide valet parking for free with a handcapped hangtag.

Complimentary valet parking for guests with handicapped tags is a nice service for those of us who need it! We, too, tend to tip well.

The CMs were excellent...not only by having the car waiting and with the air conditioning turned on, but helping us get the wheelchair in/out of the car trunk. We really weren't expecting that.

They even tried to help us put our DD's wheelchair in (which either DH or I are completely capable of doing. They seemed almost disappointed not to do it, so we made sure we let them do something else.

Normally I tip the valets $2.00 both coming in and going out. If I need to have the ECV at the location and they help me with the ECV, I tip $5.00 instead of $2.00.

I had one time at a hotel where I needed to take the ECV out of the trunk and none of the valets offered to help. In that situation not only did I not tip, but I discussed the matter with a supervisor.

On this trip, at the Contemporary, where most of the valets know me, one of them mentioned that even with the ECV I should hang the tag so they would be sure to not charge me the $6.00 daily rate.

I have recently had two stays at the Marriott World Center, and they did not charge for valet parking since I had the hang tag.
