We just got off the Wonder (12/04-7). We were not able to make it to Castaway Cay due to weather and wind conditions. BUMMER!! Lots of rain!

sorry to hear that. It was the best part of the cruise. Now you will have to go again.

We were on there, too! But it wouldn't have been a good beach day if they'd managed to dock, anyway.

Hope you took advantage of the free Bahama Mama's! :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Sorry you didn't make it. Hopefully you will have a chance next time. Free drinks? I can hardly believe my eyes. Is that standard procedure when they can't dock at CC?

This was only my second cruise -- we docked at CC in August and it was wonderful.

Besides the free drinks, they also set up a lunch buffet at Beach Blanket Bingo that included the infamous shrimp plus crab claws! We'd eaten a late breakfast so couldn't take advantage of that!

Ok I am puzzled. If the ship cannot dock into port due to bad weather conditions. Where does the ship go?

You spend a day "at sea" -- I think they circle and zig-zag so you don't get to your next port of call early! They parked us 10 miles off of Freeport while we went through the dinner rotations to keep us off of a hard sea, which was much appreciated after our rough first night!

Yes, won't that be terrible, I will have to go again. Aside from that, being my 1st Disney cruise, but having been on MANY others, Disney is IMO the BEST! Maybe, they will give me some sort of discount to sail again being that we didn't make it to Castaway Cay.

The same thing happened to us. 1st DCL cruise and missed Castaway Cay. Darn, we had to do another one. That just makes the 2nd cruise that much more special. You'll get to do something new on it too.

I know just how you feel! We missed CC on our 10/23 cruise this year, and I felt horrible because I had hyped it up to my boyfriend.

But, I will be taking my daughter on a "Wonder"ful cruise this time next year, so we'll be able to see it then! No worries! :) As some wise people told me, at least we all got to feel the magic of Disney! :)

Yep, it was a rough cruise.

Like many others, we skipped our 8:30 dinner Thursday evening. The song of the 'Edmund Fitzgerald' comes to mind (...fellas, it's too rough to feed ya...).

We still enjoyed the cruise overall (mostly because of Disney Dreams and the 2 good dinners we had) but will probably not go back on one for quite some time.

I'm with you, Bob. It was our first cruise too, and probably last. Next time we'll skip being sick to our tummies, and just fly directly to a tropical island so we have a better shot at seeing one.
The free drinks were nice, but I would have even stood on a cold, windy beach just to put my toes in caribbean sand.
