No Cars Land For WDW?

Random line found with a Goggle search for "D23."

"Over the weekend at D23 Expo 2015 in Anaheim, Bob Iger made the huge announcement that Star Wars Land would be coming to Disneyland in California and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando Florida."

And, as far a needing separate attractions at DLR and WDW...
Lamenting that they might have the same things is like being upset that every time I come back to WDW they have the same rides there.

Good. I came back to experience them... again!

I like to re-ride them.
I like to ride them (and re-ride them) at either coast's parks.

I'm so glad it's not coming to DHS. Cars Land is the only thing that got my family out to Disneyland two years ago. We wanted to get there before it was "nostalgic" for my boys and while it was still awe-inspiring for them to see it.

We loved Disneyland - I would go back there in a heartbeat. However, the draw was Cars Land because it was so different from anything WDW has. I'm sure we would've gotten there eventually - years from now - but DLR needs things to make it different besides a smaller castle and the fact that it was the original park (and yes, I know there is a lot to do there, but aside from Cars Land, these are the two most common mentions when Disneyland comes up). If everything is the same on both coasts, why would anyone try out the other park? They're going to stick with the one that's most convenient to them.

Seriously, I think Test Track is a good attraction, it got a lot better when they made it look like TRON. I also don't think RSR is vastly superior, probably if TT had more outside theming for the final part people wouldn't care. Cars Land at WDW would be too repetitious

I'm actually glad that Cars Land will stay only at DL. Now I have a reason to drag the family out there. Keep it unique to DL.

Cars land will never come to Florida and toy story land will never come to California.
However, I wouldn't rule out either isolated attractions or whole lands replicated overseas.

Or, instead of additional fake-Tron neon lights outside, a longer outdoor track (like RSR) would probably make more people happy with TT.

WDW is my home park but I much prefer RSR to Test Track. And another vote for not replicating each others' attractions in both American parks. I wouldn't mind bringing over attractions from Paris, Shanghai, Hong Kong or Tokyo because I'll never get over there.

I think Cars Land would feel really weird in Florida. It fits so well in CA, but putting the desert landscape in FL just doesn't make sense to me. I know Disney COULD do it, of course, but I'd prefer they didn't. I also don't really like the Cars movies - but I do think the theming is really cool...I want them to do the same level of theming with a franchise I like better!

This is a valid point and if there is overlap it's not a big deal. I just don't wish for them to create more overlap. I'm perfectly happy with the differences and hope they keep them more different than alike. Gives me even more reason to find a way to get back out west again.

As a few posts pointed out, the Carsland main attraction is a similar ride as Test Track. I don't think it will come to Florida as the ride mechanics are the same. Its the same reason the Indiana Jones ride will probably never come to Florida as the Animal Kingdom has "Dinosaur" which is the same ride mechanics.

Saying Radiator Springs Racers is the same as Test Track is like saying Pirates of the Caribbean is the same as Small World because you're riding in a boat.

Haunted Mansion is the same as Spaceship Earth because you're riding an Omnimover.

Big Thunder Mountain is the same as Everest because you're on a train in a mountain.

Correct.
RSR is a COMPLETELY different experience than TT.

There is story, and humor, and scenic vistas, and VARIETY, and CHARACTERS,
and even a bit of "competitive racing" in RSR.

The creativity that went into RSR is completely absent in the dumbed-down "new" TT.

What was done to wreck the original Journey Into Imagination, was repeated on the
"new," and now nearly personality-vacant, TT.

I'm not sure why people want a Disneyland duplicate at Disneyworld...doesn't make any sense to me. You can go to Disneyland to see Carsland....I want something different at Disneyworld. I went to DW in April and DL in August....I would like everything to be different between the 2 parks. By the way, Cars Land is very cool but I am sure Toys Story Land will be just as good!

I, too, think RSR is the best overall single attraction at any US Disney park and vastly superior to TT. And, Cars Land, in general, is amazing (especially in the evenings after the lights come on). It's one of DLR's unique advantages over WDW.

But WDW has several unique advantages over DLR including Epcot World Showcase, Animal Kingdom, Magical Express Bus Service, more resorts and restaurants, water parks, and more immersive overall feel.

Overall, we still prefer WDW over DLR (largely due to the much greater immersive factor). But RSR and Cars Land does narrow the gap (and helps make California Adventure a vastly superior park to Hollywood Studios).

I completely agree! TT was ho-hum before its update, and I have ridden it once since. I think the design the car aspect is cool, but not worth the huge queue. RSR I have ridden 16-20 times and every time is fun and fresh. I am still trying to take in all the great themeing. The high speed portion is much more interesting than TT's and you have the "racing" aspect as well.

The quoted posts above hit the nail on the head!
