No Cape May on Xmas Day?

Both my friend and I have been trying to secure a dinner reservation for Cape May on Xmas Day, but there is nothing, meaning no open reservations at any times, for the whole dinner period. Is this common? Do they shut entire restaurants down for private parties? Just wondering if anybody ran into this problem before......

It's hard to imagine the whole restaurant being booked already. I am going to try on Tuesday, when it is exactly 180 days out and see if something opens up then.

I've never booked online, but on our last trip~ I tried 180 + 10 days out to make the ADRs I wanted and got nothing. I was very worried. But, when my actual 180 day mark hit for each day of our vacation~ I got exactly what I wanted. I think they only allow a certain percentage of tables to be open before the acutal 180 day mark... may be wrong, but that was my experience a couple of years ago.

It was availale online this morning for 12/25/11....I didn't choose it though.
