I'm doing pretty good. I did spend $76 for groceries & $40 for gas this week (part of the budget and in budget still). We did spend $40 last night at Dave & Busters but we used coupons to get twice that in game play and we decided to eat at home to save on the cost of eating there (smart move!) We also spent $30 today at the city fair on food and games - it was worth it and we got a lot of other free 'schwag'!

I'm working on the itinerary for disney (with reservation #'s, etc), an itinerary for the kid's grandpa (what to feed the kids when, etc). DH suggested I also make an itinerary for the kids, it was funny: Don't ask Grandpa if you can eat upstairs. Don't ask Grandpa if you can sleep with the dog, Don't ask Grandpa if you can go over your friend's house, etc. :rolleyes1.

There's major, major flooding all around us today, I'm really looking forward to a few days of sunshine...

LOL. And that was pretty close! We had 13 boys and 3 girls along with 9 reptiles, including a camon (like an alligator) and a massive snake that used DS7 as a tree! I came close to a breakdown but the kids had a blast!

LOL. And that was pretty close! We had 13 boys and 3 girls along with 9 reptiles, including a camon (like an alligator) and a massive snake that used DS7 as a tree! I came close to a breakdown but the kids had a blast!

omg I can never tell my reptile loving daughters (well, they love anything with four legs, really) about that kind of party. Considering how freaking expensive kids parties can get nowadays, that's actually a pretty good price!

Today was a good/bad day for me, bad in that they called off school today because of all the flooding, so of course the sun comes out this morning and the tennis captain calls and says we HAVE to make up our game that got rained out last week RIGHT NOW, so I, and my tenis partner, haul our total of five girls, ages 10-2, an hour north to finish playing.

The good part was the girls totally flummoxed the other players because they were running around playing on the patio (first time any of them had seen sunshine in over 8 days-it's been pouring and flooding here that long). We were like, hey, you INSISTED we play today, we told you we have our kids, them's the breaks. As it turns out my partner and I were good at tuning out girl shrieking much better and won the match.

Then, because we dragged all our kids out of bed and stuck them in the cars for a several hour car ride this morning, we said thank you to them (because they actually were good, if loud-my 10 yo kept the 2 yo safe and out of trouble for an hour), we brought them to Toys R Us. So, my day is $33 in gas for the trip there, $65 at Toys R Us (used a coupon and they had buy 2 get 1 video game free so bought two for xmas), and $11 at Subway since it took us so darn long to get home.

So bad news on the budget front, good news on the tennis front, and I can still see the sun today and it looks like our neighborhood and my house survived the flood (knocking wood like crazy).

In other bad budget news my publisher just asked me to take a 30% pay cut to produce the same amount of material. Yeah, looks like I'm looking for a new publisher today :furious:. I'm just working on my first draft of the graceful quitting letter. I say first draft because it will take several drafts before the "F" word and all the other words George Carlin says I can't use are edited out....
