And for some reason I have a little extra money in my account this week - i keep thinking I've made a mistake but I can't find it. I was SO close this week. I knew I was going to go a tiny bit over, but I also "found" money in my budget somehow so i wasn't concerned. Then I ran out of groceries faster than I expected and bought more than I needed. So - I probably went about $50-75 over my weekly budget. The good thing is that was yesterday and my new week starts today so here I go again...

May 8: definitely won't be zero today, I need to get gas, pick up DH's shirts, pay a bill ($10), pay library overdue fees (I'm such a dork, why don't I remember to renew online?:rolleyes1), and buy stupid overpriced "performance tights" for the girls' dance recital next month (new dance place, we've been nickle and dimed to DEATH!!!). Oh yeah and mother's day gifts-I like to get my mom and mil cool plants (the gift that keeps on giving :thumbsup2)

y'know what the weirdest thing is? When I did the no buy march cold turkey, by this time I was jonesing to go shopping so badly it was making me crazy, but this month I'm just not feeling the need *at all*. I get paid today, too (if all goes well, boss "forgot" last pay cycle), so that will be great :yay:...

Well, posting every day didn't end up happening. Swamped at work and home. I have been keeping track on paper though so I think spending below is pretty accurate. Few changes in the budget though. Well its been an interesting week out of town. Unfortunately I have been delayed going home so I'll be out of town until Tuesday - good news is I get a few more "daily allowances" - bad news is that I had to buy some clothing to last me through - knickers, socks and new thermal leggings and top. Its forecast to snow here tomorrow and there was some light snow falling a couple of hours again.

Why didn't I just wash my clothes you may ask? Well two reasons - 1st - the place I was staying didn't have washing facilities (the place I am now staying does but its too late now) and we don't tend to have laundromats here and 2nd - I didn't have anything to wear while the stuff was getting washed. Still they won't go to waste and I'll see if I can do at least a partial claim through work.

8th - $11.50 for coffees, $11.50 for lunch, $85.45 for underwear and thermals, $17.90 for dinner and $3.25 for hairbrush ($53.30 daily allowance)
7th - $27 for dinner ($53.30 daily allowance) and $36 for my WV child
6th - $18 for dinner, $11.50 for hot chocolates (with my colleague who bought dinner last night) and $6.50 for lunch for tomorrow ($53.30 daily allowance)
5th - $4.59 for lunch for tomorrow ($53.30 daily allowance)
4th - $11.50 for lunch, $20.50 for dinner and $6.55 for lunch tomorrow ($53.30 daily allowance)
3rd - $0
2nd - $0
1st - $0

I also paid off my August cruise ($600) - I was only going to pay $300 this month and $300 next month but my bank account was looking healthy so I decided to just get it done and paid. Its nice to know that its only spending money to save and 3 nights accommodation to go as my flights (using airpoints), 3 nights pre and 1 night post cruise accommodation, travel insurance and the cruise are all now paid for.
