I didn't see one started for June so I thought that I would get the ball rolling.

The rules are simple, you set the rules. The beauty of this challenge is that each person gets to set their own spending goals and choose how they would like to post their results. Most people choose to post their spending for each day on a daily basis, as well as keep a running total of the monthly spending. Some people break it into categories, while other people do not. You can also list exceptions to your spending, such as gift purchases or vacations. It is entirely up to you! A lot of people shoot for $0.00 days which is good, I know that I will put off buying something today to get a $0.00 day. This helps me combine errands and keeps me from making frequent stops at the store where I might make impulse purchases. Set up your goals that best suits you and than share them here.

So let's save! :thumbsup2

Count me in for June. I am splitting ny grocery bidget from my household budget to see what I am truly spending on each.

My June Budget is:

Groceries- $200
Household- $50
Gas/Car- $50
Eating Out/ Entertainment- $50
Misc- $50

Total budget: $400

Goal of 17 no buy days.

I am in!!! We are WAY over budget for our vacation in Mid June, plus I want to go back to school and need $4K by the end of August! :scared1:

I HAVE to have a McDonald's tea every day, so that's $30.......my DD's bday is this month, but I already bought her gift (she is getting a very expensive vacation to Hogwarts).

I just will not go shopping whatsoever. That's what does it, ya know? Going into TJ Maxx to "look around"...that's a big joke!!:rotfl2:

We don't need anything....in fact, I think I need to make a few department store returns...that will lower my CC payment.

Who else??!!

I will post my own goals too. We have been spending $$ like crazy around here for the past few months. Time to get it under control again. We are a family of four, DH, me, DS 12 and DD 9.

DH allowance $120.
My allowance $120.
Food Money $900.
Eating out /fun money $100.

We are finishing some projects around the yard, mulching, painting a shed and building a small retaining wall. I am not counting these but when they are finished we are finished.

We have two weeks of camp scheduled for the kids, paid for. They are done with school this week so I intend to lay low, let them hang out in the yard and pool and save some $$$. We received season passes to a local waterpark for Christmas so we intend to go there quite a bit this summer. We also have a Disney trip planned for August so I would like some leftover food money to offset the spending money we need.

I am not including my regular bills, just the extras. My biggest goal is to save off of my food money which is high. However we buy a lot of organic and we pack the kids lunches. I work full time at home and don't have time to clip coupons. I thought this might be a little project for DD9 this summer. She always wants to work in my office with me, I'm going to set her up a table and let her become a coupon clipping queen.

I'm going to stick around for the first part of June, until we leave for a short Disney trip mostly paid for using the money we've saved up during the past no-buy months (plus the annual passes were digging a hole in our pocket). But, until then, I want to keep my spending under control. When we get back, I plan to spend some money on the kids during the summer. Not much, of course, but I want to get them an ice cream at the pool, have a lunch out now and then, etc.

June: 1st 10 days $200 total.

I'm here! I only have me to account for, so my budget is pretty easy, but I'm going to Vegas for 4th of July and a big WDW trip planed in Oct so every penny counts! I'm trying for a budget of $300 in June. I have a ton of left over Neutrasystem food in the house so that will cut down my grocery bills (and my waistline:laughing:). One thing I need to stop doing is driving home for lunch. Since I'm doing the neutrasystem food anyways I can just bring it with me and microwave it at work. That will really help cut down gas usage. I'm also cutting out all fast food this month!

My budget for June
Groceries/household/misc-$150
Gas/car-$150(need an oil change)

I'm going for 20 no buy days! Seems like a lot but I have so many days I don't do any sort of shopping it should be easy for me, especially with cutting out fast food.

I need to do this!

I have a Disney trip from June 22nd to 26th - taking my 8-year-old grandson down to visit his uncles, who are working in Le Cellier. The room is paid for and we get into the parks free thanks to my two sons. We may do a waterpark one day, so I will have to pay for that and of course for food.

Other than that, I want to be really careful about my spending and my hope is that tracking it here will help.

I have to ask...isn't the tea at McDonalds Lipton ? Can't you get an entire box for $5 that will last 3 months?

Maybe.....but they put in something special...I think it must be crack....cause it's really, really addicting!!
(Sorry, I am from the South and we have a lot of sweet tea humor on these threads:lovestruc)

June means lots of parties so the gifts portion of my budget is going to be high (especially since we are going in on a night away for DH's parents 35th anniversary). I already spent most of our grocery budget so I have a feeling I am going to go over-but I will not adjust it b/c I think that's cheating! I budgeted for my prescriptions, a trip to the taste of chicago, and $50 for misc. things. We are going to Vegas the 10th-14th so I will not track our vacation in our budget-but I will track our spending the best I can. DH's brother is getting married June 8, so Saturday we have the bachelor/bachelorette parties. They chose very expensive things to do. I am doing a cooking class and DH is going to the casino during the afternoon. Then both parties are meeting up in the evening to go to a comedyshow.

Grocery/Household Budget is $250...$79 left

Gifts Budget is $369...

Bachelor/Bachelorette Parties Budget is $303...

Gas Budget is $300...

Misc. Budget is $100...

Taste of Chicago Budget is $50...

GOAL 15 $0 Days!!!

Just got back into town from our 3 day weekend in Vermont. Wanted to come on and record what I can to finish May and here was June. So, I'm back. I made this as a New Year's Resolution so after this month I will be half way to doing a whole year resolution and while this is the best I have ever done at one, I am excited to think I might do one for the whole year! That would be something!

So, my goal is to surpass my goal of 15 No Buy Days. I have beat it before and after making 15 in May, my worst month weell, maybe second after December, I should be able to do it,. So, shooting for 15 or more.

Happy to see old saving friends and new. Good Luck Everyone!

Happy About Record Since Joining No Buy-
January-14 Days
February-13 Days
March-17 Days
April-15 Days
May-15 Days

I'm totally in. I did this for the first time in March and did pretty well. I didn't join in April & May because they were serious spending months. I need to pipe down in June :P My husband started a new job and is away for 6 weeks (we're halfway there) so because of his new income and adjusting, I don't have a set budget for gas/groceries/food or anything like that, but I need to spend less and the no buy thread really helps with that since I like those no buy days :) No goals, just will account for what I spend!

I am back! After doing a Surprise Trip to Disney at the beginning of the month, I felt like I would be cheating some not reporting what we spent at Disney, so I just called the month a wash.

It feels good to be back and start holding myself accountable again! I do have to say that I am not going to have goals this time...maybe more like caps. It seemed if I had money left in a category instead of stopping the spending I said hey I have money left, I should buy! So I too am just going to track what I spend and try to have as many $0 days as possible!

Running Total: Spent $0
$0 Days:0

Groceries- $0
Eating Out- $0
Misc. (Shopping/Entertainment) $0
I always round up to the nearest dollar.

$0 Days: 0: 0%
Month: 0/30: 0%

My savings from coupons and sales: $0

This will be my first time being involved in something like this, and I am hoping to learn from this experience. I just recently started to budget my money more carefully, and am having a hard time not spending any money... I love to shop (and travel!), what can I say??? :lmao:

Excluding basic necessities (such as rent/cell phone/utilities/groceries) I am budgeting $400 for all the "leftovers". :thumbsup2

Gas
Gifts
Misc.

Gas will probably be well over $100 :headache: since I drive a gas hog, and put about $30+ a week into my tank. I don't know how some of you guys can budget $50 a month on gas :scared1:, I wish I could do that!

I know that I should be saving a couple hundred a month by not eating at restaurants and drinking my beloved frappes :lovestruc so I am excited to see if I can keep within my budget this month.

My saying is "A penny saved is a penny spent at Disney!" :rotfl:

Running Total: Spent $0
$0 Days:0
Goal is 15 or more!

6/01: $0

Okie I'm back and this time I'm going to try harder lol

My biggest pitfall lies around small purchases. I leak cash like no one's business.

I have a few items to buy for the kitchen remodel still. I also need to buy a couple of bushes and a bunch of mulch sometime this month.

In June I have a long weekend at Harrahs & Dollywood planned. The room, food and slots are free. I already have a DW season pass.

DD needs shoes. I swear she says her legs hurt then 3 days later she grows an inch and her feet go up a size! Goodbye cute little crocs that I got for this summer that she only wore a month (all 5 pair from big lots waahh) - sigh.

And I'm sure I'll spend some money at yardsales.

So I don't really have a budget this month, I'm mostly tracking what I spend. I used to be so good at this! I still remember the no buy thread from a couple of years back and hoe much easier it was when I stayed at home :goodvibes

I bought the $270 gazebo from Big Lots and it collapsed.

On my head.

I returned it.

let see if i can do this! this is my first time doing this! so lets see.....

I'm gonna try this:

Gas $100
Food $200
Misc/Entertainment $160
Sophie's Allowance $40

Total $400

(I'm assuming House Payments, Utilities and the like aren't included)

Please count me in but I have to warn you that I am wierd.

We operate group homes and adult family homes for disabled adults so 99% of what we spend money on is business related.

Our real major spending is on our DD19 and DD20. DD19 is home from college working in the local grocery store. She can be quite draining on my wallet since I take her entire check to save for her tuition. DD20 is away for the summer in Indiana working as a student nurse in a special needs camp so we should be good there.

I used to have a terrible habit of McDonalds coffee everyday but then read here on this board about the Kerig Coffee machines at Bed Bath and Beyond. I purchased one for home and one for the office and have only bought McDonalds on days that I am out of town. Thanks for the savings tip.

My goal will be 50% $0 Days.

This will be tough as I have 2 out of town weekend trips planned - Special Olympics and a trip to see DD20.

I'm in again, although it will be another hard month, with two trips back home - one to help plan my father's Memorial Service, then another for the actual service.

I budget in a mixed monthly/weekly way that I can't really explain to anyone but it works for me, but as a result my "month" runs from 5/30 to 6/27. I've budgetted $865 for everything where the amounts are not set in stone as of today - that includes gas, groceries and all other miscellaneous. I'm shooting for 12 no-buy days.
