This will be my first time participating in the No Buy thread!
I am shooting for 15 no-buy days.
Weekly grocery budget is $100.
We each get a monthly allowance of $100, although I am already down to $66 since I got an 'advance' a week ago to purchase books. (Anything 'non-essential' comes out of allowance money.)
We don't really have a budget for anything else; we buy what we need as we need it. (I hope to eventually have a budget for dining out/entertainment. Trying to save money for a down payment on a larger home.)
So far . . .
June 1: groceries, $27.10 ($72.90 remaining)

I'll try again this month. I'm aiming for under $1000 this month. It's a bit high, but DH has surgery at the end of this week, we're going camping at the end of the month, and I'm working a ton extra this month (way higher gas bills than normal). I'm not looking for any $0 days, since I tend to buy a bit every day.

So, total for today: $25. Had to buy Pull ups - potty training isn't as quick as I may have hoped :lmao: Also had to pick up food for work, it's my week to restock the ketchup, butter, etc.

I just got to thinking that in a few days, my DS7 will be out of school...he is a homebody and doesn't like to go out much, so this greatly curbs my summer shopping/errands.

Money saved!!!:lovestruc

Well, let's just say that June 1st was not stellar on the savings- a trip to Target for the deck things (cushions, candle, rug, and our summer entertaining things-I'm the only one who lives in the same town as my mom, & she has a very small house, so my 3 brothers and their families, and dh's brother & his family, come to stay w/ us a few times over the summer-each:scared1:!, so I stocked up on paper plates, napkins, straws, cups, and got some plastic plates, cups, ect. to use on the deck, and a new pack of silverware (as for some reason our spoons seem to be running away). Whew! So all of that, and a coloring book for ds & dd each, the 2nd Harry Potter paperback book (we're reading them aloud this summer), and sandals for dd4 came to the very large total of $329:scared1:! It's a good thing we're not going anywhere today:laughing:!

June 1-
$329 - Target (deck cushions & deck misc., dishes, silverware)

June 2-
0-:)

I'm soooo in :thumbsup2. I've never done this before, but it's about time I do. I really need to some control on what I'm spending. I even got a journal to help me keep track ;).

My June Budget is:

Groceries- $150
Household- $30
Gas/Car- $120
Eating Out/ Entertainment- $75
Misc- $25

Total budget: $400

Goal of 20 no buy days.

Some of my budgets are low and my "no buy" days are high, but I really want to try and push myself to do well.

Good luck to everyone!!

Okay, I'm going to try for as many $0 days (or $2 days) as possible. I'm kind of in the habit of buying a bagel w/cream cheese every morning for breakfast so it's going to be hard to get $0 days, unless I can figure out what to bring for breakfast...but I'd even be satisfied with lots of $2 days ($1.35 for bagel/CC but I round up to the nearest dollar)

I also did a lot of grocery shopping in May so I'm hoping my food budget will be much lower this month. My weakness is BJs. I try to always buy our milk there because it's cheaper than the supermarkets but I've yet to leave from one of those shopping trips with only milk! I also have 2 Trader Joe's gift cards to use so I'm hoping that will help with cut down our food purchases for this month, too.

Helen

6/1 - $2 breakfast, $31 gas
6/2 - $2 breakfast, $8 for ink cartridges after using a rebate gift card, $15 at CVS for 2 boxes of cereal, some candy and some headbands for my DD
6/3 - $2 breakfast

We're in! I'm shooting for 12 no-buy days this month.

6/1 $0
6/2 $0 not going out today, so it should be 0 day

2 of 12 $0 days so far

I am a day late, but I need to join! Last month's Visa bill was astronomical for no good reason. 15 Disney Dollars back, but still... I need to curb spending big time. We use the card for the points and pay it each month, but it was more than double, almost triple what it usually is, and I have nothing to show for it.

So my goals are...

  • Eating dinner out no more than 6 times this month (last night counts as 1)
  • Not going to the ATM when I run out of my $20/week lunch money (brown bag it!)
  • Not buying any more fabric until I finish all my current sewing
  • Trying to stay away from store in general (with the exception of 2 necessary returns)

Grocery/Household Budget is $250...$79 left

Gifts Budget is $369...

Bachelor/Bachelorette Parties Budget is $303...

Gas Budget is $300...

Misc. Budget is $100...

Taste of Chicago Budget is $50...

GOAL 15 $0 Days!!!

6/1: $0

June 1 - $12.00 groceries
June 2 - $0.00

Remaining:
Groceries $888.
My allowance: $120
Fun Money: $100

Kids are done wth school! :cool1: Even though I work at home and they will now be underfoot, I am happy to see them done. So much running around the last month of school, it will be nice to stick close to home for awhile. I told the kids that they can completely veg out today and do anything they like today. That will probably mean movies and video games. :rotfl: That's OK, once in awhile being a complete couch potato won't hurt them.

We ate leftover ziti for lunch and I will find something in the freezer for dinner. I'm trying to put off a grocery shopping until next week. So many odds and ends here I would like to use up first.

I am in again !!! I did pretty good last month, but the spending got kind've crazy towards the end when I met my goal :( Hoping to do better about that !!!! Sooo, here goes!!! We do have a vacation in the middle of the month planned and we are doing activities with the family that will cost, but we have been saving EVERY penny for this vacation, soooo I'm hoping that we can stick to the "money in the can" for the vacation !!!! My goal for no spend days - 10 (trying to be realistic with the vacation ) Hopefully we can have more ;)

June 1st - $0 :cool1: Awesome start !!!!

Trying for 15 No Buy days. Went to TraderJoe's yesterday so I think i'll start no-buying today!
