I'm so impressed with everyone that has has so many $0 days. To use Tiggerish's expression, I've fallen off the wagon too. I don't think I've made foolish purchases or unnecessary ones but I underestimated the amount of stuff that needed to be bought for our week at the cottage. I also ended up doing back to school shopping this month that I budgeted for next month. Gap Kid's 30% off sale plus buy 4 get 1 free jean deal couldn't be missed since its the only jeans that ds6 fits into.
I've been afraid to post the expenses from the last few days for fear of seeing the final total... here goes...
groceries $540 $284.51 over
gas $500 $263.94 left
cat food $90 $5.63 over
boy's haircuts $35 $4.50 over
fall gymnastics registration (DS and DD) $300 $58 over
cottage rental $900 $0 left
buy sheets or sleeping bags for cottage and other cottage stuff $60 $3.00 left
buy fishing gear for cottage $60 $5.32 over
buy cooler and water container for cottage $50 $28.88 left
DH spending $150 $5.10 over
my spending $150 $33.12 over
Total: $2835 $606.56 over![]()
Joanne, I always think that that is the purpose of this thread....to help us get in touch with what is realistic for us. Believe me! Every $0 is a struggle for us, since DH loves to shop, and, since we are both home in the summer, shopping is the one outlet I have when I need to get away (should be walking, but ). Is the thread up for tomorrow yet?
