~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I always fill up all the way when I get gas. My Suburban takes about $75 to fill up. I decided to only get half a tank. It usually lasts me several months so I figured why am I taking such a hit every third month. I am going to try and fill up for less more often so it doesn't hurt so much all at once.
The big one for us will be next Mon. My son has a renal scan and last year it cost about $200 - hoping they will bill us we can really absorb it then, but this month with the rest of Christmas will be a huge ouch!! Crossing my fingers!!
January 14 -$0.00 :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
I have taught myself a lesson. If I stay in my pjs all day than I don't leave the house and don't spend a dime! Luckily I work at home so that really is an option for me.
I was just bad today. I took my lunch to work, thinking I am going to save some money. Lunch time came and a co worker says let's go to Subway. Subway sounded so much better than a cold sandwich that had been sitting in the frig all night and all morning. So We go to Subway, spent $5.50 or. Other than that a no spend day. DH took his lunch (leftover dinner) so he didn't spend any money. We do have money in the budget for lunches so I am really not over budget yet.
Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
ARRRRRG! I just can't do it!! I keep seeing these No Buy threads and they so intrigue me, but alas, I am completely hopeless!!! Good luck to all who are doing so well. I MUST be like you!!!!!!
1/14/08
$55.96 for cloth diaper supplies
$14.32 for milk, juice and lunch meat.
$10.42 pier one 75% Christmas
Ok, next month I know to add a LOT more to the baby column! I won't be buying things like diapers next month but something new will pop up probably.
11/13: $31.99 :mad: My prescription plan changed and my old card didn't work at Walgreens last night. I had to pay in full for the scrip- I'll get back $21.99 once I bring in the new card (within 6 days... I should go tomorrow or something).
11/14: $0 Way too exhausted to spend money. Even worked right through lunch!
I'm heading to bed. Got up early this morning so I could get out on time. That turned into a 12+ hour day! I swear I'll get out in under 10 hours the rest of the week.
My DC trip with the girls is coming up this weekend. My friend just got engaged two days ago so I need to get her a gift too!
$0 day again for me today!!!
I went furniture shopping with mom and watched her buy a new bedroom set for her!!!
Posting my second weeks spending here. It's so depressing I'm embarrassed to even post it. :(
Okay, we have completely and totally blown No Buy January.
I was reading the paper and glancing through the classifieds like I always do. DH and I really want a dog, for companionship and also for DH to train as a hunting dog. We found an ad in the paper for German Shorthaired Pointers for $100--wormed and shots. Went and looked at the pups today, one male and one female left. We left to think it over and decided that we wanted the female puppy.
So, we called them back and then went to PetSmart, where we spent $192 on a kennel (to fit her when she's full grown--it will be a PALACE to her now!), puppy food, some toys, food and water bowls, leash and collar, and some MilkBones for training.
We pick her up tomorrow afternoon! Which means I have to puppy-proof our house tonight and tomorrow!
1/1 $0
1/2 $0
1/3 $53 (budgeted oil change and haircut)
1/4 $17.50 (V-day gift, unplanned)
1/5 $31 (bowls unplanned)
$65 (bike unplanned)
$8.95 (mailing planned)
1/6 $0
1/7 $0
1/8 $0
1/9 $10.70 (grocery budget)
1/10 $30 (ds game, unplanned)
1/11 $114 (Old Navy, unplanned)
$18 (McDonalds, in budget)
1/12 $39 (bowling league, in budget)
1/13 $0
1/14 $277 (groceries, in budget)
Paid bills today and got groceries. Paid $277 with tip, budgeted $350. What really made a difference was:
Giving up pop
Decluttering my bathroom so now I know what I have, no need to buy toiletries as I use up my stockpile
Decluttering my laundry room, same thing, no need to buy cleaners
Good for you! I have also given up diet coke. I was drinking 5-6 cans a day while at home. That is over $40 a month not including the $1 bottles I got all the time at work. What I spent on diet coke would pay for a great vacation!
I need to declutter my bathroom like you. I am trying to use up all my sample sized things now, its amazing how many you can accumulate.
I also ordered my shoes from Zappos. :blush: If I bought them locally it would be $161 with the tax. Zappos it was $109 and that includes tax and overnight shipping. I'll include them with Feb's budget when the bill gets here. I decided it was too good of a deal to miss if they sold out of my size. Feel free to rib me if ya want! For $51, I can take it!:lmao:
I think that is a good deal! I'd rather have a couple pairs of high end shoes that last than 50 pairs of $20 ones that don't last past one season. I buy boots that cost that much too, my friends that know how cheap I am (frugal!!!) tease me too :)
I think you should put the $161 on your Feb budget and use the underage for something else - girl logic at its best! :rotfl2:
I don't think that is bad at all, you spent what you needed too. It's not like you have cashmere sweaters on there!
yesterday I spent some extras on junk. Sometimes it's easier to buy some junk that lasts for a while then eat out. So I got Go-tarts and chips at CVS. Paid $6.xx for them and the go-tarts lasted through breakfast today. The chips I forgot in the car so they will last a while. LOL
I haveplenty of room in the grocery budget so I'm not going to worry about it.
I will need to buy milk today and I need to hit up the grocery store before the sale ends today. I should spend around $20 but we'll see.
1/14 ~ $20 Gas DH Truck, $24 DD Dance class for a total of $44.00. These were all planned expenses.
I have $65.00 left from our weekly money that I am putting in savings. It is actually nice to finally deposit money into an account instead of taking it out all the time.
I will need gas in my car, but I to return some stuff that I will use that money for gas.
I am hoping that I get get through the rest of the week with being a no buy. I keep hearing it is suppposed to get cold, so that be motiviation to keep me in the house....
For us Sunday, Monday and today are $0 days. But we have our Disney trip starting Saturday, so there's a ton of money we'll be spending.
Still on track here. I have not had a single purchase not on budget yet this month. Rather proud of myself.:flower3:
1/12 - $1.51 (Groceries)
1/13 - $17.51 (Groceries)
1/14 - $13.24 (Groceries)
Month Total So Far - $90.16
Week One's Budget - $50.00 Total - $36.94
Week Two's Budget - $50.00 Total - $36.77
I think I may go over budget this week. I've already spent over $30 out of a $50, and that was only Sunday and Monday's purchases. Plus I found a recipe I want to try tomorrow, and while I have most of the ingrediants on hand, I do need prosciutto, basil, and heavy cream, which I don't believe are on sale, except maybe I won't use prosciutto, since I really don't like it that much in the first place.
I'm also betting on Disney releasing a discount code for their "spring" collection of tops they just released. I got an e-mail today advertising the collection, and with the semi-annual sale ending tonight, I'd bet that that, or the semi-annual pin sale starts in the next few days.
There's $150 worth of tops I want, so if they do release a good code, I'm buying them. I usually wait until they hit the Outlet, but with the princess shirts, and I can never find princess shirts, I'm going to make an exception, because knowing my luck, by the time they do get to the Outlet they'd be out of my size or something.
I won't feel that bad about it though when it happens, since I've been very good the past few weeks.
I actually can do more damage financially online than I ever do at target:surfweb:
Still trying to get the septic guy back to finish digging up the yard...:rolleyes1
Younger DD broke the coffeepot this morning-they have a little one that holds 4 cups so they can make hot water for instant oatmeal, which they eat tons and tons and tons of (they're very regular:lmao: )-I spent 20 minutes this morning picking shards of it off the floor, no fun. I should be able to pick up a new one at Lowe's for 10 bucks....trying to figure out where to plug that one into the budget-maybe personal care-so my eyebrows look like caterpillars until next month :scared1:
