Today should have been another $0 day, but my DD10 who is my very best (only) helper was amazing today. She helped me pack up the tree decorations and all the extra decorations that were still out. Did piles of dishes and pots and pans withough me asking. She was great as her sisters both sat on their butts reading, watching movies and drawing. So when DH got home he decided that we were going to take just her out for dinner and the other 2 ate perogi. So, we spent about $25 on dinner but hope it was money well spent to not only shoe DD10 how grateful we are that she is such a good helper, but also to show the other kids what can and will happen when you are a good helper. We'll see, it seems to have made an impact on DD7.

I need to stay focused here - CVSing on Tuesday, birthday present for DMom, and I still really want to make it to the seamstress' and cobbler's. Thank goodness the money only has to last until the 21st! :thumbsup2

I really like the percentages that Where'sPiglet does, so I want to start adding them. I think it really helps you keep track of how fast you are spending your money in regards to how long you have left of the month! Gotta pull on those reins, but I need to get gas soon almost empty!

Thanks! That's the reason I started doing them!

I got the idea from our AR (Accelerated Reader) program at my school. The kids are given a goal of number of points that they need to get from taking quizzes on books they have read. Each time they take a quiz, it updates their point total as a percentage of their goal, and also gives them a percentage of how far along the term is. It is very easy to check if they are on par or not for meeting their goal, so I stole the idea to use here!

I got way behind on posting here! I spent a bunch at the beginning of the month at a clinic and on medicine and got a little discouraged. I kept track of everything and feel better about it now. I didn't forget about y'all!

Goals: 15 $0 Days; stay within $700 for food, gas, health, and misc.
(I'm modifying this from $600 but including health. In my notes I track health but was then not posting it so it got confusing for me.)

1: $0!
2: $82.44
3: $112.01
4: $6.79
5: $56.46

7/15 -0- days left

1/9 bought groceries $175 which leaves $29 for the month! :scared1: I may have to adjust the budget some where. What I have will last at least 2 weeks so that will take me to 1/23 with 8 days left in the month and with dh gone most of the time, I can probably stretch it a bit further with leftovers almost every other night; but, 1/31 will be a big family dinner with my oldest ds and his wife coming in from Dallas (our Christmas with them). hmmmmm, will need to think on that one.

Dollar store: $5

1/10 $0 :yay: dd and I haven't left the house, been watching TV, finishing taking down Christmas decorations and playing Wii.

Most days next week will be $0, #1 dh's check was very small (his pay from Christmas week) so after groceries and bills, not much else left and #2 we will be swamped at work so no time nor energy to spend any money.

Hope it is not too late to join in this month..this will be an excellent concept for me to take hold of so my goal for the rest of the month is to have:

10 $0 No buy days

I am still trying to figure out the rest of our budget that I would want to share but I know I want to commit to having more NO BUY days each month!
