I was just at the DWWS site (sorry: can't link yet), double-checking the 15k route, etc., and I read something there I hadn't noticed before:

Bus transportation will be available to bring runners from the finish line at Epcot® back to the parking lot at Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park. If race participants would like to park at Epcot®, busses will be available starting at 5:00 a.m. to transport them to the start line at Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park.

Please note: There will be no bus transportation available from the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resorts.

What?!? But, but... we're taking Disney's Magic Express from the airport to Old Key West, because we figured we'd use Disney Transport for everything!

Anyone figure out how they're going to get to the start without having to rent a car?

(I suppose this accounts for some of the cost difference between the Minnie and the marathon.)

Yep-- I called a while back and they said there would be no transportation-- the easiest way to get there would probably be a cab-- I can't see it costing more than $15 or so, depending on where you are staying.

No they dont do the transportation for the smaller events (Race for the Taste, etc) We're doing ME too but I think we are going to rent a car for a couple of days from the Dolphin so we will have it for race morning. You can get a decent weekend rate from Alamo & can pick up & drop off at either the Dolphin or Care Care Center.

A cab from OKW to the Animal Kingdom parking lot for the start of the Race for the Cure in October cost mom and I approx $20 w/ tip. We're doing ME too but my sister is a CP CM and she has her car down in FL so that's what we'll be using race morning. We're also doing it as a cheap cash AP rate weekend so we are staying at ASSports which is Animal Kingdom area anyway. Saving the points for a 2 bedroom for the Marathon next January.
