Since we are going to be in Kissimmee for almost a week before our next cruise, we booked a rental car via Budget (we usually use Happy Limo, but we're tried Budget a couple of times in the past and have had good luck with them). I was very surprised...there was no surcharge for dropping off at a different location! The other times I used them, it was only one day so I did it via Hotwire and it was more than the daily rates I can get through Priceline. Is it normal not to pay a surcharge for dropping off at a different location for a weekly rental?

Usually the major rental agencies will allow you to drop them off at other locations within the market area. Most of them allow you to rent in one Florida location and drop it off at another. We've done this with Budget, Avis, National with no problems, as long as we inform them beforehand.

Cool! I'll post a report on how this works out. We had good luck with Budget before, but I've been a little worried about the shuttle horror stories I've read here lately.

Barb...we often rent from one location in Florida and drop off at another location with no surcharge....most other states seem to charge drop off fees, but not Florida. We often pick up in Tampa and drop off in Orlando.
