No BCV incentive under 100 points

I confirmed with my rep that there is no incentive for BCV under 100 points. Less then a 50 point add-on, as usual would be for cash(no financing) The bummer here is that a cash deal must be paid in full within 30 days. Since our use year is Dec, a purchase now lets DVC have my money 9 months before I get any points. Sure we could borrow the Dec points but our plans are made for the year. The only advantage to buying now for us is to avoid the June 2nd price increase, which with the number of points we are looking at is $150.
You'd think DVC would offer something to their add-on customers that want less then 100 points. We have 2 contracts so we are loyal customers but for the price of 100 points to get the incentive, I could buy a great resale timeshare or several decent ones that aren't DVC....spruce

We're in exactly the same boat. And we don't even really want BCV --- we want VWL but missed our chance, unless something becomes available on the waitlist. So, it's a little hard to get psyched up about buying at BCV.

My guide told me there were still some vwl points for sale, so if you act quickly.......;)

Apparently some use years are sold out. I would be surprised if you would be required to pay the cash if the resort isn't ready yet. Usually closings for preconstruction are held up until around the time the resort is opening. Ask if this is the case, if you can hold off paying the rest until 1 August or so.

Dean, That's why I called the sales Manager. I couldn't understand why all the money had to be in within 30 days. That seems to be the policy for cash sales though. It seems to me that if the balance was due closer to us actually getting our points(Dec) I could use the money instead of DVC getting it so early.
As it stands now, I'll add-on on May 30th with final payment around July 1st. I never heard of a real-estate deal where you pre-paid the whole thing before closing....spruce

This is a little OT, but what are you going to do with only 50 points? It's seems quite limiting from the standpoint of actually making reservations. You'd be able to only book 4 nights, at best.

what are you going to do with only 50 points?

With banking and borrowing, 50 points can provide a nice number for a variety of reservations.

Sounds like a good plan! :)

Spruce.... I am not sure if I got this correct or not, but If I understood it correctly someone else posted that they wanted to pay cash and this is the way they got around paying it all right away. They financed with 20% down and since no payment is due until August 1st, they just paid the other 80% at that time and there is no pre-payment penalty so they were not out anything. Like I said I am not sure if I really understood it, but it sounds like it might work, just an idea.

TerriS, you are correct for 50 points and over but I am talking about a 30 point add-on which DVC will not finance. 25(min purchase) to 49 points is a cash deal

Robinb, With the points we already have at OKW and BWV, we can take 2 trips a year. If I add 30 points at BCV, I can add a studio week day to both of these trips at BCV. We'd use this as a resort day and spend our time at the SAB pool. It seems drastic to spend $2250 to keep SAB as an option but with dues at a little over $100/year, 80 nights at BCV over 40 years is $75 per night.(in todays money without lost opportunity etc...)

That's our thought process, anybody see anything wrong with it?....spruce

The only flaw in your logic, at least for us, would be the hassle of moving resorts for a single night. Cost wise and protecting for SAB, I think your logic makes sense, spruce.
