Just to let those of you who were hoping to book Fantasmic Balcony seating for August, I rang Vacation Planning to ask them to try and book it for me and they said they have been notified that there will be no Balcony Viewing at all for Fantasmic during the month of August. :confused3

They still have Riverside Seating, so slightly reluctant I asked her to try and book that for our dates. I should get an email back today or tomorrow to say if they were successful.

Do you think I've done the right thing? Is riverside seating OK? We are from the UK and it's our very first visit to Disneyland and I wanted to make it a bit special for the family. Any tips on how to get first choice of seating ie the front row! :lmao:

According to previous threads and other posts on disney fan sites, the Gallery is closing permanently on July 31, so there will be no Gallery seating for F! again anytime in the near future.

I can't help you with your questions about riverside, since I've never done it. Sorry.

From what I've read on other posts, to get the most out of Riverside, arrive 30-45 min. early because you are seated in the order that you check in. That way you should get front row seats!:goodvibes

Hi,

We just did the Fantasmic river seating two days ago at the 10:30 viewing. My husband called a few days before and we were shocked to get it. We are annual passholders and we thought this would be nice for our son's birthday as he is also playing the music from fantasmic in his marching band this fall. In my opinion it isn't worth it. We didn't know exactly how the seating worked but they tell you to check in at 7:00 p.m. and it is first come first seated. We were given "front row seats" but they were off to the side, which we didn't realize. You are given a box of cookies and a couple of chocolate covered strawberries and a beverage. The sitting down part was nice but it isn't worth $60 a piece. Just my thoughts.

Well, vacation planning got the Riverside Seating for me. :thumbsup2

I really hope we enjoy it.

Just bumping in case anyone else has done Riverside - make me excited about it please! :confused3

I just booked Riverside View for a 9 pm showing on a Tuesday night in August. Of course, I asked for Balcony seating and was told it wasn't avaiable for August (thought I'd ask!). I asked if we could remain seated for the 9:25 fireworks and were told that we could. She also told me to check in at 7 pm to get our order of seating.

We've done this before and feel it is worth it because we won't "camp out" for an hour or more before the show even starts. It is worth it to see it occasionally. Being able to view the fireworks from there will be nice for one viewing. (You really need to see these from Main Street to get the BEST view!) The sweets & drink are nothing special - that is not the main reason for the viewing site. Being able to sit in a chair is the point.

Am I getting you excited Mazzy? ;)

hmmmmmmmmmmm... we have a confirmed Balcony Seating for August 2. Vacation Planning made it. I wonder what this all means to us? I think I will email them! I will let you all know what I find out.

Yes Julie - I am a bit more excited now! :dance3:

PNO4TE - will be interesting to see what they say. :confused3

PNO4TE - Any news? I called numerous times (and many different departments) and was told specifically that there is absolutely *no* balcony seating after July 31st. :confused3 I'll be a bit annoyed if it turns out there is.

Here is the latest info I just received from Vacation Planning. In their system our August 2nd reservations still stand "as of now." It was this CM's belief that they are honoring existing reservations but making no new ones. Which, given the timing of some of the closure notices (August 15) makes sense. However, we did make certain that they have my cell phone in their system since I arrive in CA on July 25, and we don't get to DL until August 2.

If I get a call from them and if I have internet access when I do, I would post here to let you all know. Meanwhile I need to see if we can make alternate arrangements for that evening's activities in case we have to make changes on the fly!
