No bags on rides question

I understand across the shoulder bags are not allowed... but what about a tiny wristlet. Its one of the tiny bags that fits on your wrist and hold your money id's and phones. Do you think those are allowed on rides?

Can you stick it in your pocket? I have heard of people having to put them in lockers too.

I was turned away from the Hulk with a wristlet. And... I wasn't even riding, I told them. I was just escorting my son.

The lady in front of us in the FJ line was told to either put her wristlet in her pocket or a locker. It was a tiny Vera Bradley one like this:

I was wearing a Vera Bradley lanyard with a little ID case on the end of it. I was told to either put it in my pocket or tuck it down my blouse, so it wouldn't fly around.

Thats exactly the one i have... Wonderful. I thought the lockers were for the lap bar reasons.. and I dont see a wristlet as getting in the way.. oh welll

I remember the good days when all bags were allowed on every ride. :goodvibes lol

Bags or loose articles aren't allowed on the extreme motion rides at Universal. I think they must consider the wristlet a loose article.

Do you think the wristlet would be allowed if it were through your belt loop? Seems as though if you could sit on a hat, you could sit on the wristlet as well. I may have to re-think my plan and get a granny...I mean fanny...pack as well. ;)

Can you wear hats on the rides or do you have to put them in lockers?
Hats are recommended to be held on to or removed on several rides. Sometimes just wearing a hat backwards (baseball cap style) will suffice. If it has an adjustable chin strap, those are almost guaranteed to be fine.

Hats can be held on to, stuffed in your shirt (recommended), or sat on. They can always go in lockers for the roller coasters. :cool2:

If you can put your wristlet in your pocket, do that. Otherwise they will not let you have it. It is similar to a camera or cellphone. They must be stowed away in your pocket or in a locker. They don't want those heavy articles flying off the rides and hitting other riders.

for the gals, if you're wearing a loose tshirt (all the better to stay cool:thumbsup2), check out the overland equipment placer bag.

easy to stuff down your shirt 'before' u get in line to ride and you'd be shocked by how the design holds so much stuff in a tiny/flat bag.

i love my vera bags, but i've had issue with the connectors on zippers breaking off from force of amusement park rides when attached to a lanyard.

Does US sell waterproof lanyards that can hold money, hotel keys, and tickets?

YES! We actually bought one for my DS and it was a lifesaver. It was a lanyard with a small velcro wallet attached. The wallet had one side that was clear to hold your room key/express pass. And, on the inside was a couple of slots for credits cards, park tickets, cash. I'll be buying one for myself on our next visit.

Thanks Austin Tink! We are leaving tomorrow and I was worried that I would have to spend the whole day trying to find lanyards.

I just posted on another thread that we got a 20% merchandise coupon from purchasing our park tickets at RPR. The lanyards were cheap with the discount. Well, they were pretty cheap to begin with, not Disney prices, that's for sure.

I assume then, no Blackberry 'holster' worn on the belt - or is that secure enough?

Those are acceptable. But if you can get it in your pocket, even better!

Here's another option from Kipling, called the Quaso Handbag:

You can wear the straps as a shoulder bag, a crossover bag, as well as a fanny pack. The straps can also detach if you want to use it as a clutch. I have one that I use. It fits both my DD's two epipens as well as my small wallet and Blackberry. Looking forward to using it when we go later this month!
