No backpacks or coolers in DL?

My sister has a co-worker who went to Disneyland in December. She (the co-worker) was told by a CM that as of Jan. 1, 2005 one may no longer bring into Disneyland a bag, pack or cooler that is larger than a fanny pack. I find this somewhat understandable since it would reduce time for the entry inspection process, discourage people from bringing in outside food and drink, etc. However, I don't see how this can be enforced when people need to bring in diaper bags, have large purses, etc. Anyone here know if what we've been told is correct?

That would be a real drag for us since we use a backpack as our diaper bag for ease of carrying it.

I would like to know if that is true or not. It would effect our diaper bag and my camera bag of cameras.

I don't know if DL could really do that - what about the families with little ones and diaper bags w/change of clothes, etc.

Okay, I just called Disneyland Info & Guest Services, and they both told me that backpacks, diaper bags, etc., are okay, as well as small snacks for the little ones. They will just search them when you enter the resort.

i don't think it's true at all because i was just there yesterday and saw many people with backpacks. in fact, my son ran into someone's backpack without looking...ouch.
