I was frustrated, though, that I had to do this with CRT. Since you have to prepay I had to pay for 2. I am going to call and see if I can change it to 1. If they give me a hassle I will just cancel it totally.

I just had a solo trip. I even made reservations for up to 4 to find a reservation. I could not modify it, but I informed them when I checked in that it would be just one. Just make sure you actually show up for the reservation. If you make a reservation for 4 and don’t show, they will charge you the cancellation fee for 4. If you make a reservation for 4 and only one shows up, you will not be charged a cancellation fee.

Yes this is a common thing. We wanted 4 for San angel inn and absolutely nothing would come up. I put in 5 and had 4:00, 5:30 or 6:00. So we booked for 5.

Interested to hear how you make out. I'm planning on booking CRT for my solo trip in April and was playing around and discovered it was easier to get an ADR for most days for 2 and was wondering what to do about prepaying for 2 people when I only want 1 spot.

Sounds like a good idea but how do you do that if you don't have an under 2 person listed in MDE? Don't I have to link it to members of my party?

I always book for two when I'm solo and want a table. They're going to give you the same table whether you show up alone or with someone else. They only charge for no-shows.
