No APs allowed April 13 - 17? Trying to gage crowds.

Is it true that AP holders cannot go April 13 - 17? Does this help keep the attendance down a bit? We arrive April 13 from Connecticut. We chose DLR over WDW for DS2 and DD4s 1st trip. DD10 did WDW out of convenience (had relatives in FL.)

Special thanks to everyone for all the tips and info.

Premium passes do not have blackout dates. As for the deluxe and so cal ones I am not sure. You'd have to check their blockout dates on disneyland's webpage.

Premium APs have NO blackout dates so we are not blacked out that week. And according to my calender Deluxe APers are blacked out the Sat. & Sun. before that week. So Cal & So Cal Select AP holders are totally blacked out that week. I hope that helps.

Expect it to be crowded. Your best defense is to arrive at the gates before opening. That way you can get some good morning time it. You can also judge how crowded it might be by the hours. They will have longer hours when they expect holiday crowds. That week they are open every day from 8-12.

With a blackout day, I would anticipate very heavy crowds. You can beat them, but you need a good touring plan and you must get there early.

A general rule of thumb is: any time you see Deluxe APs blocked out, Disney is expecting the Park to be crowded.

April is Easter madness and will be two weeks of heavy crowds and already weekends are unbearable.
