I called CRO this morning and waited on hold for 20 minutes only to find out that AP rates have not been released for the campsites at this time. Does anyone know if this is standard practice? Lorraine the CM said that campsite AP rates usually come out at a later date. She said that I should keep checking and that it won't show up on the Disney web site. Should I check later today, this week, this month? I am so frustrated. Any info would be helpful.

I called late morning and got AP rates for July 5th - 10th. We are staying in a full-hookup and have AAA rates for the first three nights, then AP for the remaining five. Saved over $70 on those last five nights from the AAA rate -- that's the cost of a good meal, at least!

So, if you haven't already, try again! Good luck. :D

my3princess,

What type of discount did you get on the campsites? Just curious. We are booked for September and I guess those are not out yet!

Thanks!

We didn't get an AP discount. We decided to stay with a preferred site and there either wasn't any available or wasn't any available for our travel dates which is hard for me to believe as I had a CM on the phone at 7:20am. They did say that we could get a full hook up site for 46.00/night. We really need an extra large site and they will only guarantee it at a preferred site.

Just got off the phone and got the AP discount for week of 7/25 - preferred site. Might want to check back today!

That does not ring true to me. (not calling you a liar) I have just never heard that before. If the only reason you are booking preferred is to get a large site then save your money. The preferred sites are not larger. In fact they seem smaller because they put them so closer together. They will get you a site that will hold your camping equipment. Just tell them when you book what size equipment you have.

I'll agree--I've always thought that the preferred sites were smaller.

We just called again to check for AP for preferred sites and still told none available. There are still full hook up sites available and the CM thought that I was wrong when I said that someone had gotten an AP rate for a preferred site. I also asked about The guaranteed large sites. They do have them for both full hook up and preferred, however my DH likes the location of the preferred loops so we are keeping our original ressie. The CM said that FW may release more sites for AP discount so check back often.

That is strange:confused: I am pretty sure that I got an AP rate $55 for preferred site - I have a better rate than I had with AAA... Maybe they didn't have availability the week before?

I have no idea how there system works. I had a CRO on the phone at 7:20am Wednesday morning so you'd have to think that if rates had been released I would have gotten one. She didn't think that any campsites were release. That was incorrect info as we are staying for 13 nights and there system won't do discounts for that length of time. In order to get a discount they need to break the stay up into 2 or 3 segments. Wednesday evening 2 different CMs tried to do that and said that for the week of the 17th and for the week of the 25th they only had full hook up sites at the ap rate $45/night. After reading your message I tried again and was told yet again that there was nothing for my dates and she also tried to break up the stay. If you are paying $55/night I would say that you did get a preferred site. Congratulations. I will keep trying in hopes that a discount will appear that will help us. Thanks for your responses.

I just got an AP rate for the preferred campsites for our entire length of stay!:wave2: I was able to save $216 over the AAA rate that we had. That is a lot of counter service meals for our family.
