If Disney discontinued the AP discount codes for AP holders, would you still purchase an AP?

Yes! (That is why I own DVC!)

I would probably not do it again that is one reason we purchased them...because of these rumors we r highly considering DVC next year..this year we r doing MYW!!!

MAYBE THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT DISNEY WANTS? who knows....

I said yes, because I've never bought the AP just because of the room discounts. I buy them because getting a FL resident AP at SoG is usually less expensive than buying hoppers for the amount of days we are there.

this was our first time buying APs
$100 DVC discount for ea AP
then $25 off DDE card w/AP

We're DVCers and have had APs for several years because of the number of days we spend in the parks. We occasionally use an AP room discount for a night at the begininng of our trip if we arrive early (we allow an extra day for driving and road conditions), but if the AP rate were not available we'd simply spend that night off-site. The DDE is a great perk, I hope they continue it in the future for AP holders.

Sure, I'll continue to buy an AP--it gets me into the parks! :cool1:

We would continue to buy APs as long as it continued to be the admission media that worked best for us. The discounts, which we do use, are a nice benefit but not a necessity.

I have only purchased APs for two years out of the last 20 some years. I purchase APs if I am going to make more than one trip in 12 months or if I am going for a long period of time. I have never gotten the AP discount!

With the new MYW tickets, it takes a lot more days for the AP to be cost-effective for admission discounts only.

Yes. We will be spending a total of 19days in Disney Parks from 02/01/2005 through 02/01/2006. So the savings on park tickets and others items is worth it.

Sure would!

We buy APs with the intent of making 2 trips in a year (sometimes 3). We are currently in a year with no APs (DH wants a break from WDW) but we will be buying them again for Feb of 06. If we can get an AP discount on a room rate, all the better, if not, we'll be happy at PO-R anyway!

Have been an AP holder for 10 years and will continue to be an AP holder for another. Our family buys the AP for Park Admission, which is what it's sold for. I rarely ever use any of the extra perks, but it's nice to have them if I need them. I have had an AP before room discounts ever existed. After looking at my fellow dis-friends posting above me, I'm glad to see I'm not alone. I'm one of the happiest AP holders on earth....yes I entered the contest too.

I voted "no", but not because I feel entitled to an AP room discount. However, if I will be looking at paying rack rate for on-site rooms, I won't be able to afford to go as often, thus not making it worth the $$ for an AP.

I figure it takes about 15 days instead of 10, so if there are two trips in a year or even one long trip, the AP is still worth it. And that's without including any dining discounts that you get with the AP.

Probably not since we own DVC and are going to cut back to just one WDW trip per year. In April we will be splitting a stay between VB and BCV, only spending 3 days in the parks. Then I don't plan on going to WDW again until early Dec 2006.

Since my AP expired in January, I am contemplating buying a 10 day non-expiry pass via Ticket Mania. This will cover my short April trip AND my December 2006 trip. Purchasing an AP at this time doesn't make sense, especially if there are no discounts which would entice me to schedule an impromptu trip.....

I will continue to purchase an AP provided we make at least 2 trips in one year. I am liking the new DVC discount. Has anyone figured out when the discounted AP for DVCers make sense over the MYW tickets?
