Just tried to tweek my ADR's for my trip 9/20 - 9/26 and was told none of the following were not available for dinner..
I tried multiple days and asked for anytime between 4pm - 8pm.

Tony's at MK - nothing
Coral Reef - nothing the whole week
Ohana - nothing
Kona Cafe ( they had one night at 8pm but it didn't fit in my schedule)

We are trying for a table for 2, which sometimes make's it diffacult.

Oh well, I will have to be happy with what I have already booked.
I will miss going to Kona's, it is my favorite place for dinner.

Wow, it sounds like that's going to be a busy week. Sorry you couldn't get the ADR's you wanted, hopefully some times will open up.

I guess I better get on the phone and make the rest of my ADRs. :confused3 We're going 9-6 to 9-16 so maybe I'll be a little luckier than you. I've already got LTT, PSB, CG, and Narcoossee's but if I don't get Kona, my DM will kill me. Luckily for us, eating at 8 p.m. would be fine. I'll be calling tomorrow for the rest of my ADRs.

Sorry you couldn't get yours but we've had pretty good luck the last few years making ADRs while there. Last year we kept about 1/2 of the ones I made months earlier, and made about 6 more (cancelled original ones) while there. Don't despair, you might still get to eat at Kona's. :thumbsup2

Try some restaurants that are off the beaten path....you might be pleasantly surprised! My #1 recommendation is Marrakesh (Epcot). Great food, great entertainment, gorgeous dining room. Other ideas for you....Raglan Road (I've never been here, but I just made a ressie for 2 adults for it tonight for 9/26 and there was lots of availability), Nine Dragons (Epcot; we love it there), Concourse Steakhouse (not sure if there will be availability or not there but it couldn't hurt to ask), Maya Grill (at Coronado), etc.

Also, what about eating lunch at Kona's instead of dinner? They probably have better availability for lunch. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the beef teriyaki salad (only on the lunch menu).

Places filled up fast.. I am sorry, I would just keep checking back you may end up getting some of them..

I'd keep trying back every couple of weeks - might snag a cancellation. Plus when you arrive, try calling dining and seeing if there are openings.

Yes we have tried over and over to add reservations. Most of the places are booked. We do have everything we wanted, but gave up WCC for Marakesh to try something different. Good Luck and keep trying.

On this week's DIS podcast, they discussed this topic of no ADRs for groups of 2. They seemed to feel that Disney often reports that a restaurant has no ADRS left when they actually have no tables for 2 left. They may have plenty of 4 tops, as they are called. They were of that opinion that you should call back and ask for a table for 3. You have a much better chance of getting an ADR in this case.

Many people will call this wrong because you are knowingly saying that you have 1 more person in your party than you actually have. On the podcast, the best point was made about this though!

Imagine that you went to a restaurant near home and you could clearly see a bunch of open tables that could seat four people. When you ask for a table for a party of two, the hostess says, "Sorry we don't have any tables for 2."

I think there is a good chance that you are not going to accept that. If you are next in line and there are available tables, you should get one.

To the OP: If you are comfortable with it, call back and try for ADRs for 3.

For all those who are now saying, "She should have put on the flamesuit," I say no way! I could care less who flames me. Some will say, "You are teaching your children to lie...blah, blah, blah." I feel very strongly that I could honestly explain to my children that there is a glich in the way the ADR computer programs have been set up. At times, they do not show availability when there may actually be tables open. Disney would never knowingly discriminate against parties of two, right? :thumbsup2

Good luck, OP!

I called today to try and change a few things on my days (9/6 to 9/15). The only thing I could get was lunch at 50s Prime Time. I already have reservations at most of the places I wanted so it's not a big deal but it would be nice to have ability to switch things around when we're still two months out. :(

DBF and I are going at the end of Sept. also and have not had any trouble changing around our ADR's. The key is to be flexible. We'll have the agent check a range of dates and we'll take just about any seating time that is available.
Last night, there was a table for 2 at Le Cellier at 6pm on 9/21 - it's just too bad our plane lands at 6pm that day! We managed to get dinner at Coral Reef and Le Cellier for later in the week, though. These are both for a party of 2, so just keep trying!
Keep calling back - it took us about 15 tries before we got all our top choices.

I called last week and made a few changes...since we are now bringing my SIL with us on the trip. Going from a table of 4 to table of 5 is a PITA! I had to cancel some of our meals altogether and reschedule things. I'm still looking for a few places we really wanted to try.
But to the OP, keep trying! I got two ADR's the other day that I couldn't get in the past. And to the people who cancelled, thank you! I appreciate you calling to cancel rather than just not showing!
Good luck to the OP....I hope you get what you want!:thumbsup2

I would also call back and check about the tables for three. I just called on Monday, and had no problem adding Chefs de France for dinner on 9/28 and the Princess dinner in Norway on 9/23 for our party of three. These really surprised me because the CM read off a whole list of available times for both nights. The only problem I ran into was Le Cellier (which I knew was unlikely) and I tried to change WCC to a different night, but had no luck. Now I'm just waiting on some reviews to come in from the those who got moved from 1900 Park Fare to the Grand Floridian Cafe, so I can decide if I want to try to add that.

Hope you have some better luck. I would definitely keep trying.

Jennifer

I'll be in the World 9/22-9/29. I had some trouble with ADRs but in the end was able to get most of what I wanted (all ressies are for 2 people). Le Cellier and CRT were booked. These were 2 big ones for use that I'm still bummed about. I tried Coral Reef as a back up to Le Cellier but that was also booked. We ended up booking Rose and Crown for that night. Initially we could not get a ressie at Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner, but after trying again about 1 month after the initial attempt, we were able to get one. Our other ADRs for the week include Tony's, Boma, San Angel Inn, 50's Prime time, and then the Concourse Steak house for a lunch before leaving. All in all I'm happy with what we were able to get :)

Thank goodness I already have our ADR's. I have some I wanted an earlier time on and keep trying but no luck. So we're sticking w/ what we have and will change our day plans to fit our evening ADR's.

Keep trying you never know. I think there may be more ADR's opening up in Aug. after the final payment is due and ressies are canceled. Good Luck

Don't give up on Kona's just yet. We were in your shoes last year and really wanted to eat there. On a whim we went over there (MK was the park of the evening anyway) and we were seated in about 20 minutes. So if you're not in a rush give it a try. Good Luck!! :thumbsup2

Try calling every day.

I am booking a last minute trip in August and I knew it was during free dining so ADRs would be a challenge. At first I had to settle for off times or second or third choices.

A daily 10 minute phone call to Disney Dining and now I have every ADR I wanted including The Princess Storybook Breakfast, LeCellier and Chef Mickeys which were totally sold out the entire 2 weeks of our trip. People change ADRs and cancel all the time so keep calling.

Don't give up...people are constantly changing/cancelling their ADR's. I have been changing some things around for our Sept 8-15 trip the past couple weeks. Chef Mickeys is doing lunch during free dining, and there were LOTS of available spots. Princess Storybook dinner had a lot of time options too. A lot of places had late seatings (after 8:30pm) but that's just too late for us!

I totally agree. I just called today and was able to get a Le Cellier dinner! I never thought I would be able to score that one....Our trip is at the very beginning of September so maybe that helped too....:confused3
