So, I keep religiously checking, like hourly, for any cancelled ADRS for CRT for my large party (8 + infant) or even groupings of 4/5, 6/3, etc. But if I can't nab one, how crazy am I to think, well, we will just show up and wait. I'm going during the slow season, we are talking 2/1-2/3, so I'm hoping we would be looking at an hour or less. Anyone have any experience on this?

From what I gather, the likelihood of walkup seating at CRT for a party of 9 actually happening at all is basically zero percent.

I was afraid someone would say that. Crapola. I'm hesitant to make reservations for split group just because I don't want to separate my girls or have my inlaws not get a chance to dine with them in the castle. I have been trying since my 180 day mark.

But you know what? I'm not giving up. Just gonna hope for some pixie dust.

The meal is prepaid. If someone is not going to be able to make it, they will cancel. Keep watching, right up until the last few days. A seating for 9 is going to be hard to find though regardless. You might want to keep your eyes out for a combination of smaller ADRs instead. However, if you go with, say, an ADR for 4 and an ADR for 5, I would not count on them being able to seat you together.

I would split up. They don't have many large tables and you must make reservations for 9 since there is 9 of you. They could possibly not even seat you if you had reservations for 8 and 9 showed up. If you can get a split reservation definitely do that and show up early asking to sit by each other

Well I snagged a reservation for the 9 of us at BOG for the same day. Not what I want though. If I split up 5/4, that means I'll have to split up my kids who are 8, 5, will be 4 and 1. I really don't want to do that.

I'm just frustrated and sad and still trying to figure out what to do.

If it were me...and it was a matter of splitting up and not going...I'd take the smaller ADR if it came up and let the inlaws know it was that or nothing. I can't imagine my inlaws being upset about not going if it meant the kids couldn't go either.
Once you have some kind of ADR you can always hope to snag another. You likely won't be seated together but if you check in early enough you might be seated near each other.

BOG has much larger tables and it's more cafeteria style so it is easier to accommodate larger parties. But don't give up hope. A 5 and a 4 right around the same time should get you very close by. The whole restaurant is seated in almost a large U shape.

I've got a reservation for my party of 6. Now I just need to get one for my remaining 3 adults.

The way the restaurant is set up (tables), in theory, you could sit next to each other. I've seen large parties, 6-8pp sit together before. So if you can make 2 ADRs, maybe go by there the day of reservations, in person, and let them know of your situation. Also, call in this instance to ensure that when you make the ADRs, you can make them for 9pp, even though it's 2 separate ADRs, b/c online will not let you make them within 1hr of each other. As OP stated, no to the walk-up.

Side note --- we had an ADR for 6 for my DD8 birthday when she was 5, the tables they had us at was for 8 (2 parties of 4), so I'm pretty sure they could easily accommodate 9, especially since 1 is an infant. Not the larger tables, but how close together they are.

Kudos for getting 6! If you can't find a reservation for 3, try 4. From personal experience and what I read in the forums, you're more likely to find a reservation for an even than an odd number. Also, if you show up with one less person (3 people for a reservation of 4) they won't charge you for the missing person!

CRT is a prepaid meal though. Not sure if those funds are refunded when the 4th is a no-show or how that works with pre-paid ADR.

Yup you're right. I forgot about that. woops! To OP: don't give up. I've got a late CRT coinciding with the last night of Mickey's Electrical Parade. I've been able to adjust all my ADR's to good times, except this one. I know it's hard. I hope you have better luck than me.

I got a split party for lunch time the day I wanted. I was able to split us up 3/6. The reservations are for 2:15 & 2:10. I'm hoping if I check in first thing in the morning and explain it they'll be able to work some magic. Otherwise my sister will be dining with my in laws. But they're all okay with that as long as the kids get in. Thank you all! I'm still going to keep my eyes peeled for a 9 party, but if not, this is really a minor issue.

All you Dis-ers rock.

Try for 4. The restaurant will try toseat you together. TBH, if you booked for 9 and they needed to split you up, they would.
