NMAmy's Spring Break 2010 Trip Report--Girls Gone Mild! Update 5/18

Hi NMAmy, I followed you over from Hucifer's TR.

He believes it a travesty that you could pay for a hotel room and a coffee pot would not be part of the deal.

Alex is correct!

It was only 49 degrees that morning and we could see our breath but the weatherman promised it would warm up to the high 70’s—making it very difficult to dress weather appropriately.

Same thing happened to us. Was beautiful and warm by 10AM, then at night got quite chilly. Since we were only taking one backpack into the parks we never took sweaters in with us.

I totally think the Imagineers missed a golden opportunity when they didn't put a huge bowl of spaghetti in the center of the courtyard with a big strand of spaghetti stretching between these two. Disney needs to hire me.

I think your right.

Pop Century: The Depression Years. Brother, can you spare a dime to further the completion of these rooms? Sheesh, this looks awful.

:rotfl2:

Okay, Brittany got up with no trouble at all.

Cause she's being polite since your not her mother.

Caitlin growled at me, came into our room, and crawled into bed in our room—trying to get Alex to protect her from me, the big bad waker upper woman.

:lmao:

Whoops, I'm a bit late to the replying party!

I could see us staying here again and not be chomping at the bit to get the heck out of there.

We liked Pop too! I thought the room size was fine! I'd be happy to stay there again if we were on a tight budget. And just avoid the food court during busy times!

I totally think the Imagineers missed a golden opportunity when they didn't put a huge bowl of spaghetti in the center of the courtyard with a big strand of spaghetti stretching between these two.

Yes! What a great idea! Let's sneak in and do it one night when everybody's asleep!

I could tell Alex did not grow up in the U.S. when he had NO idea what the heck this was:

CIMG2215.jpg

Erm.... I mustn't have grown up in the US either! I know it's play-doh, but I don't know why there's an elephant and giraffe in there. I just thought they were for decoration! Is there a real purpose to them?

Peace, love, and rock & roll prevail around the Hippie Dippie Pool.

Yayyy, I love the Hippie Dippie Pool! That's where Conan and I did our Dirty Dancing lifts! :yay:

And, yes, this is my first of many appearances in this trip report--I got the PhotoPass cd so there is actual evidence that I went on vacation.

Woohoo!!! Hi, Amy!

I wonder which park you'll go to first!? My guess is... Hollywood Studios!

Why, oh, why do they never want to go to school close to home? They do have pretty barns and a stupid nice campus at MSU, though. East Lansing is a nice town, as well. And if she comes to school here, I'd be happy to be her emergency backup. Now if I can just find a DIS'er close to DD in NM to be her emergency backup, I'd be all set.

I hope you have a great time at the cattle show. I am sad to admit that I did not even know there was going to be a cattle show in town. :lmao:

MSU is, ironically, closer to us than is Columbus. Stupid geography. AND they offer in-state tuition to Ohio residents.

I would, however, love to move to NM, so I'll call my real estate agent and put our house on the market right now. DH won't mind. But that makes OSU and MSU way too far away -- I can't win!

How can you not know about the cattle show?

The weather drove me crazy on this trip. The afternoons (except Sunday of course :sad2:) were so beautiful but the mornings were so cool. It was irritating to try to figure out what to wear. We all usually wound up in shorts and a jacket.

Can't wait to hear about your first park day!

I'm from Michigan so cool in the morning and hot in the afternoon is pretty normal for us spring through fall. We're just so darn grateful that it warms up at all. ;)It helps that we went back to the room after lunch so we could change AND we had a washer/dryer so all those costume changes didn't cause a problem. But I could not believe how hard it rained on Sunday afternoon! It was like monsoon season. :lmao:

Hi NMAmy, I followed you over from Hucifer's TR.

I'm so glad you did!

Alex is correct!

As a Diet Coke drinker, as long as I can stuff a can of pop in the ice bucket I'm good but my normally easy going husband gets a bit cranky without access to coffee.

Cause she's being polite since your not her mother.

Oh, absolutely! And I'm not above exploiting a really great guest and pointing her out as an example of proper behavior to my own child. :lmao:

We liked Pop too! I thought the room size was fine! I'd be happy to stay there again if we were on a tight budget. And just avoid the food court during busy times!

I was so surprised by how much I liked it!

Yes! What a great idea! Let's sneak in and do it one night when everybody's asleep!

You're on! Right after I figure out how to make giant plastic spaghetti. My plan is not 100% complete, I've just realized.

Erm.... I mustn't have grown up in the US either! I know it's play-doh, but I don't know why there's an elephant and giraffe in there. I just thought they were for decoration! Is there a real purpose to them?

Well, I'd always thought they were on the label but, now that I think about it, maybe I'm wrong. You do win over Alex, though, because he couldn't even figure out that it was Play-Doh. :rotfl:

I wonder which park you'll go to first!? My guess is... Hollywood Studios!

Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner!

MSU is, ironically, closer to us than is Columbus. Stupid geography. AND they offer in-state tuition to Ohio residents.

So, win/win? How old is your dd again? If she's anything like Caitlin, she'll change her mind many times before that final choice is made. Cait's college practically drove over and picked her up for school--they begged her to come and she was very coy about committing. The benefit of a small school, I guess. ;)

I would, however, love to move to NM, so I'll call my real estate agent and put our house on the market right now. DH won't mind. But that makes OSU and MSU way too far away -- I can't win!

I liked living in New Mexico but I never felt truly at home there, even after 15 years. I still love to visit, though, and eat my weight in New Mexican food and cover everything with green chile.

How can you not know about the cattle show?

I am SO out of the loop. What exactly happens at a cattle show? I see cows every day--I'm surrounded by farmland so I'm not sure I understand driving somewhere to see them. Are these special show quality cows? Singing and dancing cows?

What exactly happens at a cattle show?
Are these special show quality cows? Singing and dancing cows?

:lmao:

Yeah, Disney tried the whole singing/dancing cattle bit in Home on the Range. You don't see any attractions themed after that, do you?

Today was the Michigan Beef Expo -- very similar to the state fair type of competition. Most of it is based on 4-H age kids, showing this year's projects. Then there are some sales of cattle and supplies. It's just a rocking good time.

March 20 Continued--We finally make it to a park!

After much debate as to what the heck we were going to do with ourselves, we decided to go to MGM. (Julie was right!) I’d been a bit worried before we left because the Unofficial Guide folks kept jacking around the crowd calendar numbers. One week, a day would be listed as a 5. The next week, the same day would be listed as a 9. I finally had to cut myself off from looking at them because they were freaking me out. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived—it was crowded but not Christmastime, you can’t scratch your nose without elbowing someone crowded.

Caitlin had told me on the way over that on this trip, she wanted to do the smaller attractions that she always misses because she’s so focused on the big rides. Since the wait for RnR was 60 minutes, we decided to just do some smaller stuff this afternoon.

Before we hit any rides, we realized that everyone was starving so we went to the ABC Commissary for lunch and got there just ahead of a HUGE line. I managed to irritate a woman by going to the left side of a register. Hey, I’d tried to point out that she could go over there but she didn’t believe me and she about had a coronary when the CM finished with the customer on the right side and then turned to me first. I’m just starting out our trip by spreading that Disney magic, aren’t I? Maybe if I had an imposter CM badge, people would believe me when I try to tell them this stuff.

I got a double cheeseburger, Brittany got a chicken sandwich, and then, get this, Alex ordered an Asian salad. WTH?? This man wouldn’t eat salad if restaurants were giving them away on a normal day. But get him on vacation and he’s suddenly Veggie Man?? It was like some kind of bizarro world where I’m eating burgers and Alex is eating salad. Caitlin wasn’t hungry so she just got a drink.

When I saw the burger, I realized I should have gotten a kid’s meal instead. By that time, Caitlin was enviously eyeing my fries so I pulled the old Budget Board trick of cutting the burger in half and we shared the meal. I’d like to make it clear right here that I did NOT go back and get an extra bun. I don’t want to poke THAT hornet’s nest, thank you very much.

Caitlin, Brit, and Yoda at the ABC Commissary.

CIMG2223.jpg

Yoda is quite the conversation starter by the way. Even more so than a MSU sweatshirt.

We then meandered over to Star Tours—after I had scouted for any miscellaneous Stormtroopers that might have been hanging around. We had the first row and enjoyed our trip.

Alex, Brit, and Cait on our quick detour to the streets of NYC.

CIMG2224.jpg

I should point out that we were kind of freaking Brittany out. This morning, she told me she’d been to WDW many times with her mother. They always stay off-site, go from rope drop to closing, and her mother has a very strict schedule to which they have to adhere. She was a little befuddled when I told her she could do whatever she wanted whenever she wanted—no skin off my nose. I have no plan except to have fun. She called her mom to tell her that and I think her mother hyperventilated a little.

Since Cait had told me she wanted to do the smaller stuff, I put in a request for the Muppets. Cait rolled her eyes but Brittany was very excited. When we arrived, we were held at the turnstyles and the man who was waiting began to talk to me. A lot. Caitlin, Brittany, and Alex all abandoned me by sidling over to the other turnstile. I could see Caitlin snickering at me as this man began raving about the raspberry muffins at the Writer’s shop. Did you know they use fresh raspberries? I know now. Did you know that they make the muffins with whatever fruit is in season? I have this knowledge. Did you know that a couple of weeks ago, the muffins were strawberry? Yep, I do. Sigh. He come to Disney World every week so he had a lot of stored up muffin trivia to impart. He was nice enough but I was really grateful when they let us into the pre-show room and we moved far away from him under the guise of looking around.

After the Muppet/muffin ride, we went on the Great Movie Ride at Brittany’s request. Before we went in, Caitlin spent some time measuring her feet against the stars. Bless her heart, in the foot department, she’s more of a stepsister than a Cinderella. So, we were on a hunt to find stars with bigger feet than Caitie.

Feet ALMOST as big as C3PO's:

CIMG2227.jpg

And hooray, Harrison Ford has bigger feet!

CIMG2225.jpg

And Roger Rabbit has WAAYY bigger feet!

CIMG2228.jpg

And then Michael Jackson--I'm not sure why because I'm betting his feet were smaller.

CIMG2231.jpg

The line for the Great Movie Ride was pretty short so we were quickly on our way through Hollywood of old. Caitlin insisted on sitting in the middle because she’s still freaked out by the alien. It was pretty cute, she put her head in my shoulder when we went through that section just like she did when she was a little girl. I told her if she actually looked at it, she probably wouldn’t be afraid anymore but she couldn’t bear it.

The girls wanted to try RnRC in the standby line. Only problem was that it was a 60 minute wait, it was 3:00 and we had a reservation at WC for 5:00. While we were debating, I got a text saying that our room was ready-3025. We decided to head back and, of course, the boat was just leaving the dock. When the next one arrived at 3:30, I decided to disembark at the Dolphin and walk over. I was stressing about getting to the room, getting our luggage and our stuff from Garden Grocer, and still making it to Whispering Canyon for a 5:00 reservation.

It takes an HOUR to get from resort to resort. At LEAST an hour. And we should be on the bus about 10 minutes from now. Stress, stress, stress. I was getting antsy and when I said I was walking over from the Dolphin, Alex & Caitlin laughed and said they were taking the boat all the way over. Then Brittany piped up and said she’d walk over with me. About 2 minutes later, Caitlin decided to come along. And as we pulled up at the dock, Alex gave in and walked with me, too.

I’ve always thought people were exaggerating about the long walks to the Boardwalk rooms. As we walked and walked, I started to get my hopes up that we’d been upgraded to a Boardwalk view. Just as we were nearing the end of the hallway, BAM, we had to veer to the left. Rats. We ended up with a canal view—on the other side of the wing from the Scary Clown Pool. Thank heavens, I don’t think I could have stood seeing that thing with the light up eyes outside my window every night.

Our view:
CIMG2232.jpg

CIMG2233.jpg

CIMG2234.jpg

I called Bell Services immediately upon entering the room. I didn’t really take any pictures of the room this time even though it had been refurbished. Cait and Alex were thrilled with the flat screen tv’s.

It took awhile for them to get there and we were really losing our window of opportunity to go to dinner. We took a vote and decided we didn’t feel like rushing anywhere so we’d just wait for our stuff to arrive and then find somewhere to eat around the Boardwalk. I got the groceries unloaded and we got the suitcases squared away. I’d spilled something on a pair of jeans and wanted to wash them before it set so Caitie gave me some of her dirty clothes so I’d “have a full load and not waste energy.” She’s so green, isn’t she?

Caitlin wanted to go to the Fountain at the Dolphin but after a burger for lunch, I wanted something different. I wanted to try Kouzzina since we had a free night. Caitlin stuck her nose up at that so we decided to meet up after dinner.

Kouzzina wasn’t too busy and we managed to get in just fine without a reservation. There did seem to be an inordinately large percentage of squalling children in there but the restaurant itself is pretty loud. We weren’t starving and I was way more interested in appetizers than in the entrees so we got some to share. We ordered the sampler for two and an order of saganaki. The saganaki was really good but I was disappointed that they don’t OPA! at your table. It’s just not a real Greek meal without the threat of imminent fire damage, know what I mean? It’s a tradition—at least here in Greek restaurants in Michigan.

The appetizer sampler was fairly good, too. We had chicken and lamb meatballs skewers. The chicken was kind of bland but I jazzed it up with tzatziki. I wasn’t a fan of the meatballs—they seemed a bit tough. Alex liked the sugary cashews and I loved the kalamata olives. We continued our hummus at every dinner theme. The dolmades were in the Greek style and I was glad I hadn’t tried to lure Caitlin there with promises of grape leaves. It’s one of our holiday meal staples but we make them in a tomato base instead of the lemony Greek variety. I also had the Alfa beer which was very tasty.

After dinner, Alex & I just hung out in the room. I did laundry and unpacked. We had an early night and the girls got back around 10:00ish after a quick trip to the MK. I was surprised they were back that early but I think they were pretty tuckered out.

Next up--Well, what a surprise!

Yeah, Disney tried the whole singing/dancing cattle bit in Home on the Range. You don't see any attractions themed after that, do you?

Very true. I've never seen Home on the Range. And I have no desire to see any cow based attractions now that I think about it!

Today was the Michigan Beef Expo -- very similar to the state fair type of competition. Most of it is based on 4-H age kids, showing this year's projects. Then there are some sales of cattle and supplies. It's just a rocking good time.

:lmao: Dang, I'm sorry I missed it now!

I'm jumping aboard your TR! It's been quite enjoyable so far. I really like your writing style. :thumbsup2

Oh, and I have to say that the Yoda backpack is probably the greatest thing I've ever seen. I want it so bad. And I'm not even a big Star Wars fan.

I'm jumping aboard your TR! It's been quite enjoyable so far. I really like your writing style. :thumbsup2

That's very kind--thank you! I'm glad you're reading!

Oh, and I have to say that the Yoda backpack is probably the greatest thing I've ever seen. I want it so bad. And I'm not even a big Star Wars fan.

:rotfl: I got it for Caitie on our trip last year. Yoda is QUITE popular at college. All the boys try to steal him.

Maybe if I had an imposter CM badge, people would believe me when I try to tell them this stuff.

Who would ever do such a thing?? :lmao:

I pulled the old Budget Board trick of cutting the burger in half and we shared the meal. I’d like to make it clear right here that I did NOT go back and get an extra bun. I don’t want to poke THAT hornet’s nest, thank you very much.

And why not, the meals are huge. If you managed to eat all of it you would you have to have a nap afterwards. I knew there was mug controversy, and pool hopping controversy. Bun controversy is a new one on me. I am forewarned to keep any antics with extra buns to myself.

He had a lot of muffin knowledge...and a captive audience!

And then Michael Jackson--I'm not sure why because I'm betting his feet were smaller.

Were his feet small? His hand look enormous to me, I thought the feet would follow suit.

Caitie gave me some of her dirty clothes so I’d “have a full load and not waste energy.” She’s so green, isn’t she?

 Yep, I'm sure saving the environment was her only motive.

I like the relaxed vibe that's going on for your first day.

Your room view is not too bad at all.

That was an interesting dinner that you and Alex had, I've never had a Greek meal.

I bet Caitlin would fit into my footprint. At 5'7", I wear a 10 1/2.

There's always something new to do at Disneyworld. I can't wait to go to the Writer's Shop to see what kind of fruit is in the muffin next time I go to Hollywood Studios.

CIMG2234.jpg

There is our DVC room in this pic. Far left, 3rd floor. We were just in it in Feb. Yep, I miss it already.

Who would ever do such a thing?? :lmao:

Cough (hucifer!) Cough!

And why not, the meals are huge. If you managed to eat all of it you would you have to have a nap afterwards. I knew there was mug controversy, and pool hopping controversy. Bun controversy is a new one on me. I am forewarned to keep any antics with extra buns to myself.

Oh, the bun controversy. Some folks cannot split a double cheeseburger unless they each have their own bun so they can each pile their own toppings on it. Used to be WDW would give an extra bun for free. So many people began asking for one that WDW began to charge. Panic and bun controversy ensues on the Budget Board.

He had a lot of muffin knowledge...and a captive audience!

I have no idea why I couldn't just walk away! :lmao:

Were his feet small? His hand look enormous to me, I thought the feet would follow suit.

I'm not sure--I really know nothing about Michael Jackson. He just seemed like a little man in stature to me.

I like the relaxed vibe that's going on for your first day.

Your room view is not too bad at all.

I'm glad you like the relaxed vibe because that's pretty much the way our whole trip is. We're not park commandos--we meander, and wander, and then take a nap. :rotfl:

That was an interesting dinner that you and Alex had, I've never had a Greek meal.

You should try it--it's very tasty!

I bet Caitlin would fit into my footprint. At 5'7", I wear a 10 1/2.

It would be very close.

There's always something new to do at Disneyworld. I can't wait to go to the Writer's Shop to see what kind of fruit is in the muffin next time I go to Hollywood Studios.

Please be sure to report back because I'll be sitting here wondering!

There is our DVC room in this pic. Far left, 3rd floor. We were just in it in Feb. Yep, I miss it already.

:lmao: DaPanMan, we are destined to be neightbors wherever we go.

After much debate as to what the heck we were going to do with ourselves, we decided to go to MGM. (Julie was right!)

Wahooooooo!!! What a clever random guess!! :yay:
Also, I love it that you still call it MGM and make no apologies for it! Go girl!

I managed to irritate a woman by going to the left side of a register.

Teehee! You should have stuck a fry up her nose just to really irritate her. :goodvibes

CIMG2223.jpg

Caitlin's all grown up!! And hi, Brittany!

I should point out that we were kind of freaking Brittany out. She was a little befuddled when I told her she could do whatever she wanted whenever she wanted—no skin off my nose. I have no plan except to have fun.

That's hilarious! Poor girl! I would have been freaking out with her, I'm afraid. I'm all about the plans! Although the having fun part sounds good too. :thumbsup2

He come to Disney World every week so he had a lot of stored up muffin trivia to impart.

Heheheheee! What's a trip to see the Muppets without some added muffin knowledge!? Did you fancy eating a muffin after hearing all about them?

CIMG2233.jpg

What a pretty view!! :)

Kouzzina sounds a bit ordinary, which is sad! That replaced Spoodles, right? Spoodles was one of our favourite restaurants! At least the beer was good!

Thanks for another fun update, Amy!

I remember seeing that Yoda backpack last year during Star Wars weekend. It is just so cute! I'm sure my DS would love to have it.

Dang, you stay off the DISboards for a few days and everyone and their brother are updating their TRs like mad. I have some catching up to do.

Up and at ‘em, pal!
Aww...I miss that wakeup call. :sad1:

He believes it a travesty that you could pay for a hotel room and a coffee pot would not be part of the deal.
Alex is right. It's practically mandatory these days, like automatic transmission in cars.

What did you just call me?

I totally think the Imagineers missed a golden opportunity when they didn't put a huge bowl of spaghetti in the center of the courtyard with a big strand of spaghetti stretching between these two. Disney needs to hire me.
I completely agree. With both sentiments.

Pop Century: The Depression Years. Brother, can you spare a dime to further the completion of these rooms? Sheesh, this looks awful.
Why did they abandon this? Does anyone know? That is so depressing.

Our building had the Mickey phone
If I didn't know it was 80 feet tall, I would swear that was the real phone.

There you are! Hi, Amy! :yay:

Sheesh, that was a long way! And for what?? Ricky and Lucy? It was a bit anticlimactic. That was the most important thing that happened that year? How disappointing. Alex looks less than thrilled that our long walk resulted in THIS.
I would have been SERIOUSLY bummed about that one. Hey, speaking of which, did you know that Lucille Ball auditioned for the role of Scarlett O'Hara?

*SPOILER ALERT*

She didn't get the role.

That’s when he told me, “You really ARE a troublemaker, aren’t you?” Yes, yes, I am.
That's my girl. :teeth:

Maybe if I had an imposter CM badge, people would believe me when I try to tell them this stuff.
People really listen to you when you're wearing those things, mark my words.

But get him on vacation and he’s suddenly Veggie Man?? It was like some kind of bizarro world where I’m eating burgers and Alex is eating salad.
Up is down! Black is white! Cats and dogs living together!

As is the only acceptable reaction from a Commando Park Professional.

Did you know they use fresh raspberries? I know now. Did you know that they make the muffins with whatever fruit is in season? I have this knowledge. Did you know that a couple of weeks ago, the muffins were strawberry? Yep, I do. Sigh.
Do you know the muffin man? the muffin man, the muffin man...

Finally, something interesting for you to talk about in your TR.

He was nice enough but I was really grateful when they let us into the pre-show room and we moved far away from him under the guise of looking around.
What a sad, lonely muffin man. :sad1:

It was pretty cute, she put her head in my shoulder when we went through that section just like she did when she was a little girl. I told her if she actually looked at it, she probably wouldn’t be afraid anymore but she couldn’t bear it.
:lovestruc
It's like they never grow up. But in a good way.

We ended up with a canal view—on the other side of the wing from the Scary Clown Pool. Thank heavens, I don’t think I could have stood seeing that thing with the light up eyes outside my window every night.
Amen to THAT. :scared:

Cait and Alex were thrilled with the flat screen tv’s.
Who has time for TV at Disney World? :confused3

The appetizer sampler was fairly good, too. We had chicken and lamb meatballs skewers. The chicken was kind of bland but I jazzed it up with tzatziki. I wasn’t a fan of the meatballs—they seemed a bit tough.
Wait a minute. First you say that the appetizer was good...and then complain about bland chicken and tough meatballs?

After dinner, Alex & I just hung out in the room.
Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure you did.

Who would ever do such a thing??
:rolleyes1

He had a lot of muffin knowledge...and a captive audience!
The perfect storm.

Wahooooooo!!! What a clever random guess!! :yay:
Also, I love it that you still call it MGM and make no apologies for it! Go girl!

You are very clever. And, yes, I'm making no apologies. Mainly because 99% of the time I've forgotten they've changed the name. ;)

Teehee! You should have stuck a fry up her nose just to really irritate her. :goodvibes

:lmao: I'm pretty sure she would like me even less if I'd done that. Besides, I'm not wasting a fry.

Caitlin's all grown up!! And hi, Brittany!

Sigh. She IS all grown up. Dang it.

That's hilarious! Poor girl! I would have been freaking out with her, I'm afraid. I'm all about the plans! Although the having fun part sounds good too. :thumbsup2

:rotfl: I don't mind if someone else makes plans. As long as they don't expect me to abide by them.

Heheheheee! What's a trip to see the Muppets without some added muffin knowledge!? Did you fancy eating a muffin after hearing all about them?

We did end up at the Writer's Shop later in the day--I just forgot to write about it. Brit got this cupcake with about 3 inches of Smurf blue frosting on it. And, as the girls were picking out their treats, Cait told me snidely, "Hey, Mom, they have raspberry muffins!"

Kouzzina sounds a bit ordinary, which is sad! That replaced Spoodles, right? Spoodles was one of our favourite restaurants! At least the beer was good!

Thanks for another fun update, Amy!

You know, I really wanted to like it a lot but it was just okay. Okay but kind of expensive. I'm glad we didn't go to the Fountain, though!

I remember seeing that Yoda backpack last year during Star Wars weekend. It is just so cute! I'm sure my DS would love to have it.

The Yoda backpack is expensive but worth its price in entertainment value! Yoda makes many more appearances in this trip report.

And there he is :lovestruc  :love2: How am I just coming upon this now, pal???

Hey, pal! I sent you and Mal a PM. Did you not get it? Now I'm wondering because I haven't seen her either.

Dang, you stay off the DISboards for a few days and everyone and their brother are updating their TRs like mad.

I wasn't feeling well this weekend so Alex waited on me hand and foot while I updated my trip report. There's only so much tv watching I can do over the course of three days.

Aww...I miss that wakeup call. :sad1:

Next trip, you let me know when you need to get up and I'll call you and say, "Up and at 'em, pal!"

What did you just call me?

You heard me! Err...read me!

I completely agree. With both sentiments.

Aww...so nice. I'll be using you as a job reference, ok? Maybe I can just do ALL the wake up calls while I'm there, too.

Why did they abandon this? Does anyone know? That is so depressing.

Pretty much right after they started construction, I believe. It looks terrible. It's weird that they're not doing anything with it--even tearing them down would be better.

I would have been SERIOUSLY bummed about that one. Hey, speaking of which, did you know that Lucille Ball auditioned for the role of Scarlett O'Hara?

*SPOILER ALERT*

She didn't get the role.

:lmao: Thank heavens we had a British woman to come in and nail that role.

People really listen to you when you're wearing those things, mark my words.

Now you're just teasing me since I know I can't get one.

Up is down! Black is white! Cats and dogs living together!

The world has gone mad, I tell you!

As is the only acceptable reaction from a Commando Park Professional.

Which I'm not.

Do you know the muffin man? the muffin man, the muffin man...

Yes, yes, I do know the muffin man. Heaven help me.

Finally, something interesting for you to talk about in your TR.

Hey! This is all interesting stuff, missy.

Who has time for TV at Disney World? :confused3

Me! Because I have no plan and I wander aimlessly. Plus, someone has to watch Stacy blathering on about her "must do's."

Wait a minute. First you say that the appetizer was good...and then complain about bland chicken and tough meatballs?

Weird, huh? I liked the hummus and the olives and the dolmades. Just not the skewers. So 80% of the appetizer was good.

Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure you did.

:lmao: Let's keep this PG13 now.

The perfect storm.

Sigh. Yes, it was.

I'm in, I'm in.... I'm late, but I'm in! :thumbsup2

I can never come up with a catchy title for my trip reports.
Okay, I understand that feeling. But... you're way, way wrong on this one - LOVE the title!

And can I just take a quick moment to say how much I heart being able to make ADR’s online? I don’t like to talk on the phone. I avoid it at all costs so this made my life much less stressful.
Yes, yes, yes - so not a fan of the phone.

I’m always “insanely early” as Caitlin puts it. But I’m also insanely stress free.
::yes:: I'm starting to feel as though I already know you...

We collected our own luggage at baggage claim. Yes, I know I have a control issue. On the way there, I like to know I’m going to have clothes to wear during our trip and I can’t leave that up to the baggage handlers at Pop Century. On the way home, however, I could care less and happily drop it off as soon as possible. I have other clothes at home.
Seriously now, are we related?! :rotfl2: I receive much grief over my need to pack at least 3 changes of clothes, all underwear and all cosmetics in my carry-on. Can't be too careful.

And here's the view from our room. From that angle, doesn't it kind of look like foosball pieces set up in a small box? The perspective is kind of weird and Twilight Zone-y.

Ooo, it does!

We went into the lobby and found our way downstairs to Sanaa. No, I don’t know how to pronounce it even though three people pronounced it for me and one nice lady told me the meaning of it which I’ve now forgotten and apparently I didn’t feel it was worthy of writing in my trip notes. My guess now would be Best Food EVER.
Well, shoot. I just changed a bunch of my summer ADRs today and didn't include Sanaa because I wasn't so sure it would be great. And I love Indian and African food. Back to the online drawing board. ;)

He believes it a travesty that you could pay for a hotel room and a coffee pot would not be part of the deal.
Yeah, I'm with Alex on that one.

Pop Century: The Depression Years. Brother, can you spare a dime to further the completion of these rooms?
:lmao:

See that Michigan State sweatshirt? That thing became the bane of my existence on this trip. Never wear a team shirt during the Final Four.
Or football season. Unless you're a Gator. Just sayin'. ;)

Maybe if I had an imposter CM badge, people would believe me when I try to tell them this stuff.
:rotfl2:

Caitlin insisted on sitting in the middle because she’s still freaked out by the alien. It was pretty cute, she put her head in my shoulder when we went through that section just like she did when she was a little girl.
Aw, that's sweet! :goodvibes

I’ve always thought people were exaggerating about the long walks to the Boardwalk rooms.
No-ope. :sad2:

I’d spilled something on a pair of jeans and wanted to wash them before it set so Caitie gave me some of her dirty clothes so I’d “have a full load and not waste energy.”
Nicely played Caitlin! :rotfl:

This is terrific Amy!
