Yes - I did make 2 $200 deposits -- $400 total. But the thing is set up as 2 packages on one reservation number. It lists my daughter and my package first, and then it lists my husband's separately below. I keep reading that you have to have 2 reservation numbers, and both of my packages are listed under one reservation number. But it indicates a gift card for 1 and 3, which are my husband and I. :confused3

I may call today, but I'm not sure I want to monkey with the reservation. To me, if I paid 2 deposits, I've got two packages, regardless of how many reservation numbers.... I hope my logic is solid.....

Itchin2go - IMHO it would be smart to call and confirm that you have 2 packages and are therefore guaranteed to get 2 gift cards. If the CM you speak with says you do, have them put it in the notes section! It makes sense to be absolutely sure. You may be right and your logic is sound, but I have not seen this before and went through this exact process myself.

Ultimately, we all want you and yours to have a magical vacation and we are concerned that you are potentially in for a disappointment. Let's make sure that does not happen! :cheer2: Why not call and be safe?

Ok - I called and switched to 2 reservation numbers. The CM was adamant that I would not receive 2 gift cards unless I had 2 reservation numbers. Of course, I was also told that I still have guaranteed connecting rooms. :confused3 Who knows what will happen? I still think the reservation clearly indicated 2 gift cards, but better safe than sorry. I had promised one of the gift cards to my daughter, so everyone is happy now. Thank you all for NOT telling me what I wanted to hear. ;)

I don't know if this helps but in 2007 We were told by our TA that she had gotten us a $25 GC .We had 2 rooms under 1 reservation !! When I checked in they gave us 2x $25 GC! So she could well be right !! I didn't argue or say anything I just figured it was a mistake !!It could have been but we def. got 2 !!

I actually got a faxed copy of the hard copy confirmation given to my TA from Disney stating that I have guaranteed connecting rooms. I'll be taking these along for our trip in January since we too have 2 reservation numbers. Do you or will be able to get anything in writing from Disney guaranteeing the connecting rooms? I'm not too familiar with how things work when you go directly through Disney reservations since we always go through AAA. Oh and my TA also told me that when the number of children outnumber the parents, the connecting rooms are guaranteed. Not sure if this always holds true, but so far we haven't had any problem with it.

itchin2go -- Sorry it took some more effort and a lot of frustration. But seems to have worked out. Better to be safe than irate or disappointed at check in!

itchin2go - Just wanted to see if you had an update on your gift card situation. Did you get your resrvation package from Disney yet? For my two reservation numbers I got two voucher booklets and therefore 2 vouchers for gift cards. Did you get the same as well?

I think they posted some time ago they had switched to make it two res' to get the two gift cards.
It is one card per res. (Not per room.)

Yes - we changed to 2 reservation numbers and got 2 separate reservation packages, so 2 of everything. I still think the way my reservation was originally done, I would have gotten the 2 $200 gift cards. I made 2 different deposits, and it was actually structured as 2 separate packages on one reservation. BUT - I just couldn't be certain. Every CM I talked to just had a vague answer - I'm not sure anyone knew for sure. I pointed out to one CM that I had made 2 deposits, and she said - yes, one per room. And I said, no, if these were room only reservations, I would have paid a deposit of one night, not $200. :confused3 See what I mean? It's $200 per package right? I just ended up saying, better safe than sorry. Who knows what would have happened.

Now, Chapter 2 is: Do I get connecting rooms? The saga will continue later in the month and I'll answer that all-important question....

Thanks everyone for their input!

We'll be facing the same issue on the January 24th. I'm really hoping that our rooms are connecting even though we have two separate reservation numbers. I've got my fingers crossed. My TA is going to call to "remind" them that I do have a child with some special issues, so hopefully that will do the trick.

I booked a Family Suite and considered changing it to two value rooms after reading some info on this board. The CM told me to get the 2 gift cards I would have to make 2 reservations and since we have a young child (5YO), they would guarantee connecting rooms even with 2 reservations. We decided to stick with the FS anyway but it was worth checking into and I thought I would share my experience.

Just to let you all know that she was correct the first time! My reservation was set up the same way and I got my package coupons in the mail today and recieved 2 - 200 dollar coupons with different code numbers on them, one in my name and one in my husbands name, under one reservation two rooms. My reservation confirmation also was set up the same as itchn2go's with 2 numbers beside the 200 dollar gift card. On the 200 dollar voucher it says "One (1) voucher per room reservation" not per package!:thumbsup2

I KNEW IT! Thanks for posting this. For some reason, even though I ultimately changed my reservation, I just KNEW this was the case, and it continued to drive me nuts. Yay for you with your 2 gift cards! Have fun spending them.

I basically think that there's a way to set up the reservation as TWO packages connected and on one reservation number (which MAYBE makes it more likely that you'll get 2 connecting rooms). I think maybe all the CMs aren't up to speed on this, and that's why there's the confusion. Either way - glad it worked out for you and have a great time on your trip!
