NJ woman sues her psychic for $160,000 for bad predictions!

The woman could have spent $6 instead, (price of a movie ticket back in the 80's,) to hear Yoda say, "Hard to see. . . The future is always in motion."

OR she could have watched a decade plus of Star Trek and learned the past, present and future are happening all at once, and at the same time. :teleport: And what she does in the present will affect/change the outcome of her future - which reinforces what Yoda said. :p

Or she could have watched Lost.

Evidence of the validity of the statement that a fool and his/her money are soon parted.

I drove by today and her open neon sign was not lit.

I feel bad for the psychic, there is no way she could have predicted such an outcome. Oh, wait... she is a psychic. :D

And this is why so many bogus (or perceived as bogus) lawsuits are settled.

Next time there is a group gripe about our legal system and cases regarding hot coffee or ridiculous warnings please remember that these cases settle because lawyers know that sympathetic jurors are out there . . . regardless of the stupidity of the plaintiff.

Regardless, I think there is a special place in Hell for people who take advantage of others' unhappiness and desperation in such a way. And I don't agree that the plaintiff was necessariy stupid; deperession and desperation can cause someone to do things they wouldn't consider under ordinary circumstances.

:lmao: I agree, she really should have seen this coming.

I will have to remember this the next time I eat chinese and my fortune doesn't come true

A person I know got into a mess like this. The psychic was clearly taking advantage of her desperation and saying things like, "If you don't pay big bucks for this "spell", x y and z will happen" and this person was so afraid she did it. Thousands of dollars.

I think when someone is in it this bad, it's an addiction.

I don't think in general someone should be able to sue a psychic, but some of this stuff is bordering on extortion.
