NJ Week Waitlist

Hello,

What do you think my chances are for a waitlist for Nov 4-9 to come through? It is NJ week and everything is booked up.. I have a waitlist for SSR, ( I am a SSR fan) ... Just thought it would be a great time to getaway!!

Slim.

But not nonexistent. You can always waitlist and see what happens, and book a cash reservation as a backup.

We all get spoiled by our DVC- but there's no shame in Port Orleans Riverside for a good resort that doesn't break the bank- or even an offsite stay- if there isn't DVC availability. And the beauty of a cash reservation backup is that you can cancel without penalty much closer to travel than you can your DVC.

I am going the 7-11th and it was sketchy at the 7month to get in beause of jersey week and marathon weekend and opening of christmas.

Stalk the online website. I was able to pull together 5 nights at BWV for the following week last year, starting in September. First the last 3 nights came open, I booked them and changed the waitlist. Then the 2nd night came open, booked it and changed the waitlist. The first night (Sunday of Veterans Day weekend) came through by the waitlist about 28 days out. DVC then combined all 3 reservations into 1.

Since New Jersey was somewhat of a small state did not think teacher's convention week would be a problem. Seems like every person in New Jersey must be going. I have SSR reserved for that week with Beach Club on wait list. Have never waitlisted before ...it doesn't look good.....

It's not just Jersey week, it's the last week of the Food & Wine Festival, Veterans Day weekend plus I think there's a marathon that weekend.

SSR is good for the waitlist since it's so large. You might want to also w/l at AKV.

It looks like November 4, 5 & 6 are available in all room types at SSR except treehouse villas don't have the 6th. I would reserve those and waitlist the rest unless you have to borrow to do it. The less nights on the waitlist the better chance you have.

I cancelled a 2br standard view at BWV a few weeks ago 5-11. I couldn't take off the 10th, so the waitlist can definitely come through

Talking about waitlists (or stalking the website), some lucky person got VGF lake view studio for May 22 yesterday. I cancelled it because we decided to move to Wilderness Lodge a day early so that we would not be moving on the 24 hour MK day.

We have always had luck during Jersey Week getting our non home resort.. including BC and AK.
