My radios came today but my family swears they were supposed to be Motorola talk abouts. Does anyone know if we were supposed to get those or the Cobras (which is what I received)?

We were supposed to get Cobra 110's. I've heard they are useless at WDW because they don't have sub-channels. I'm going to sell mine on ebay.

The offer was for Cobra radios. I agree with robinb that they would be difficult, if not impossible, to use at WDW since they don't have sub-channels. So many other people come across on these in our own neighborhood! But they were free, so I am not complaining :)

I, too, believe they were supposed to be Motorola. I remember looking up the model number and they were supposed to have subchannels. I was going to purchase two more with subchannels. WE have two of this type (4 channel), so at least we can use them. When we used them last Oct, we didn't seem to have a problem. DIdn't actually talk on them much though. I wished everyone would follow that!

I think it said they had the right to substitute.

I checked the original offer ( I had it scanned into my system) & this is what is says:

"Cobra MicroTalk Two-Way Radios"

"Up to a two-mile range. includes 14 channels, a SuperFlex antenna and a belt clip that doubles as a desk stand. As an added bonus, we've even included batteries. You'll never get ditched on the slopes again."

"Cobra MicroTalk Two-Way Radios retail value is $89.95."

So I guess we got what we were supposed to get, perhaps the MicroTalk confused you with the Talk-Abouts (Motorola version)?

Either way I am glad to hear that these did work for someone already, I am going to take ours & see what happens!

welovedisney: You're probably right about the Microtalk getting us confused! I knew there was an "m" in it ;)

Thanks for the info

I got confused myself & remember it when the radios got here & they weren't Motorola-LOL!
