Nintendo DSi XL

Well, my DD finally told a more affordable item she wants for Christmas. (originally item was an iPad ) She wants a DSi XL to replace her DS Lite that is on its last leg. And while yes it is more affordable and I can afford regular price, I still would like to get a good deal. Anyone see a sale coming up? The BF ads have very little and if they have anything it is a 3DS.
I saw that Toys R Us has a gift card this week, so that may be the best deal.

I got my DSiXL last year on Amazon - one of their daily deals! It was about $150 with some accessory...

(My boys want iPads too....they do need their DSlites replacing though. The hinges are borken and are being held together just by the case. EEK! I'll have to watch for a DSi deal. Not getting iPads.)

Target has in their stores the Ninendo DS XL for $169.99 and comes with a Mario vs Donkey Kong game. That's the best deal I can find at this point as I'm also looking to get one for my 8 yo DGS.

If it doesn't HAVE to be an XL. I found a great deal on an DSi. Radio Shack has the black ones on clearance "in store" for $79, (normally $150). Since our Radio Shack didn't have any, I printed out the ad and took to our local Wal-Mart where they price matched it for me. And I didn't even have to fight a crowd of people for it at midnight!

Toys R Us has that bundle for $169.99 also, but you get a $25.00 gift card with purchase. I think this is what I'm going to go with. I don't think a sale price will be much better than $25 off (if it is I can always take it back. ) Plus, it is the same price as the a regular unit without the game.

Wow, that is a really good price. I think it really does need to be the XL because that is specifally what she asked for. She has a regular size DS lite now and I think she really would like the larger screens. But, if I know of anyone looking for a regular one, I'll be sure to tell them about the Radio Shack deal. It is currently showing as available in one of my local stores.

Also, you may be able to get either cash or store credit at Gamestop for her lite. We just traded DS's lite in and got 35 cash, and they (mistakenly) told us over the phone we'd get an instore credit for 25. We went to upgrade, and DS burst into tears when we were informed the info was incorrect, and I refused to let him trade his 6 month old in perfect condition DS lite for 35$. The store manager gave it to us. They said around the holidays they do frequently run that offer, but it wasn't that week. You could always use the store credit for a game if you traded in after Christmas.

That is the best deal that I have found and I have been watching for deals for the last month. I am still hopeful that Target will have the XL for 169.99 with a $25 gift card again. They have the Bundle Pack like Toys r us had last week "on sale" for 169.99 this week. I have trouble seeing that as a sale price since that is the price it was last week not on sale!!!!

I was going to try to make it to Toys R Us yesterday, but never did. I wasn't to upset since the gift card only makes me spend more money. I've looked at all the ads today and a few places have it listed, but it just the regular price....not sale at all. Best Buy did have it with a $10 gift card, but that is all I found so far.

I'm thinking about just going to Walmart and getting it. I'm worried that it will be hard to find it if I wait and also, they do offer the price match guarantee if it does go on sale any place.

I solved my problem today by getting my boys the 3DSi for $145 at target and a game so it came to $185 total. I haven't any great deals on them and nothing on BF except for some games. I'll be picking up a few of those on that day if I go out.
