I don't really know much about games (if anything!!) - but DD would like one of these. I have looked on Walmart site and for $150 you can get a DS Lite, choose a game & get a carry case for it.

Is this a good price?
Will it be ok to buy over there & bring back - will I need an adaptor or do they run on batteries?

If you have got any advice for me please let me know.

Thanks

A DS Lite retails for £99.99 in the UK, sometimes with a game. With the exchange rate how it is you'll save a bit but not a huge amount.

The DS Lite runs on rechargeable batteries so you'll need to buy another charger. I got mine from Lik Sang but it's shut down now, a website like Play Asia will sell them.

You'll save a bit, probably between £10 and £20 pounds but you will have to invest in a new charger which will cost you just under £10.

Personally I think our internet deals on most consumer electrical items are almost as good as what you pay in-store in the US with the bonus that it's a lot less hassle to return if the item fails after a couple of weeks :)

By all means go for it if you think it's a bargain but I can't say the numbers persuade me as they stand.

I just looked a few websites up, and a DS Lite will set you back £94.99. With a game that rises to about £104.99.

Personally I'd just buy one here.

For £99.99 I didn't think you got a game - just the DS?? This is why I thought the Walmart price seemed good.

That's the RRP you can get them for just under £95 online or with a game from £105. It all depends on what game you want of course, I notice that Wal Mart bump the price by $10 if you want one of the more recent/more popular games.

Also I suspect you need to add sales tax to the $150 price tag as well.

for £99.99 in Game you can get DS lite, a game and a starter pack (cleaning cloth, wallet to keep it in, 3 spare stylus' and screen protectors) if you want the more recent (and so expensive) games I think it it 109:99... I bought it with brain training last week for 99.99

The easiest thing to do would be to buy the DS console over here then buy some games over in the states, some new games over there are almost half price.

Just got back at the week end.
My son bought a DSlite in the Florida Mall for £70, and the £10 for a new game.
A good deal we thought!
