Hi All,
we lost a day of our vacation and no will be arriving in Epcot at 3 pm tomorrow - instead of lunch we'll have dinner, but ADR's are not too plentiful...
the girls are from China, so I'd like to do Nine Dragon's - but I've stayed away because of bad reviews...another family with chinese girls did go there and loved it....
Anyone have anything good to say about them?

we had a meal at nine dragons on or last visit to the world the food was nice nothing special but better than the food courts however desserts were terrible i had this rice pudding dessert and it was disgusting cold and nastie worse dessert ive ever had in the world hope i dont put u off just dont go for the rice pudding

First, I'll say that I'm not crazy about Chinese food, so I can't speak to authenticity. My husband, on the other hand, loves Chinese food. We went last August with DH, DS7, DS5 and DD2. We knew that the reviews were terrible, but we were a bit desperate for a ressie, so I took it.

We were seated very quickly and it wasn't very busy. It does sort of have a cafeteria feel even if the decorations are nice and perhaps culturally appropriate. We took photos, for example, of the room divider near the host station because it was so pretty.

I'll also say that I've got many allergies - the worst of which is mushrooms. The manager came right over and was both knowledgable and accommodating. She knew so much about the food, she didn't even need to check with the kitchen - she just knew there was mushroom extract in this, cherries in that. So, my meal was simple. I got a chicken dish. It was DELICIOUS. The chicken was of high quality - not what you are used to from the typical cheap chinese place. I'm very picky, especially about the quality of meat. My husband also really enjoyed the food and even the kids ate something. Again, I'm not an expert and my experience is limited to americanized-chinese, but I would definitely go again because of the manager's tentativeness and the food itself being good. I always think it's worth a try at the Epcot restaurants. At least you'll know for sure next time!

despite bad reviews... we wanted to try it. we fell in love with this quiet little place. i'm going to go TR diving for my pictures... be back in a few with them!

It was good. I think I had the soup that was very similar to wonton soup (with the dumpling in it). It was almost as good as my fave Chinese restaurant here in Dallas. The entree was delicious but dessert was terrible. It was very quiet and not crowded and we had a nice time.

Last time we went I did a little review on my blog. There are some pictures too.

Nine Dragons

We enjoyed it. It was NOT where I wanted to go but in the end we were glad we tried it. Not top tier food but good and tasty. :)

We ate lunch there one day because there was no wait to get in.

Nice but crowded feeling dining room. The food was decent "American" Chinese food at Disney prices. :lmao:

It's not a dining destination by any means, but we'll be at EPCOT alot this trip (Staying at Swan) and wouldn't hesitate to grab lunch here.

Thanks for all the reviews! I made a ressie for dinner tomorrow. I think we'll skip dessert (lol, the bad dessert seems to be a theme) - perhaps we'll stroll over to my favorite - chocolate crepes at the french kiosk...if we have time before Illuminations!
Well, I'm off to bed I guess...gotta wake up at 3 am again and hope they give us a good plane tomorow! Wish us luck!

NOTE: We eat Chinese frequently, and were pleased
by Nine Dragons. Although not the best, we thought it was
quite good for Epcot's typically Americanized meals. The
Beijing Chicken was surprising good. I can't count Nine
Dragons as fine dining, but certainly well above average.
