Nine Dragons.

Personal Review YMMV!

Ate there in June. Beautiful resturant.

Food was just not very good. I have a cheap Chinese near me with nearly as nice an atmosphere and much better food.

(PF Changs has much better food... I personally haven't had much Chinese worse)

Also, it's not authentic Chinese. It's American Chinese, which is fine but it would be nice if it was authentic.

Again, this is just my opinion, and the last time I ate there was about 3 years ago, but....

The restaurant is gorgeous, the food is mediocre. And expensive! The beef and broccoli was 20 bucks, and I really didn't care for the taste. It had a very odd flavor that I couldn't identify. I, too, have had much better food at a local cheap takeout place.

Strangely enough, I found the food at Lotus Blossom Cafe (the CS place in China) to be much tastier. I had the beef fried rice. Now, maybe I just had lower expectations because it was CS, but it was hot, fresh, and tasted wonderful.

I ate there YEARS ago and remember the food being good. But the general consensus now seems to be that the food is below average at best.

We were there in late May and found the food fresh and well prepared. The flavor is the Americanized Chinese variety that is ubiquitous in urban and suburban areas. Service was very attentive and friendly.

It is quite expensive for what it is - but we had the DDP so it wasn't an issue. My wife craves this type of food often so we had to do it. We do it again since we enjoyed it.

If you are expecting authentic Chinese cuisine that differs greatly from what is offered in almost any populated area in the US then you will be disappointed. If you want solid versions of fried rice, egg rolls, Gen. Tso chicken, etc. then I think you will be pleased. There is a duck dish that gets consistently high praise on the DIS. Do a search for "duck" and "Nine Dragons" to read through some of it.

Hope this helps!

:thumbsup2

we ate there in May...my DBF said "it's OK" but he says that about everything. I absolutely LOVE this place but we are also from CT and don't get to experience really good Chinese food very often. I'm making it a point to eat there again when we go back. We had General Tso's and my brother had some kind of rice bowl but I don't remember the exact name...both dishes were perfect IMO, the restaurant is beautiful and the staff couldn't be nicer

We ate there a couple of weeks ago and it was GREAT! :thumbsup2 The hot and sour soup is my favorite....it is so unique with a hint of cilantro, yummy! I can't wait to go back!

We had a very good meal there, but it is Americanised chinese.

Bejing Duck is the duck dish.

No complaints, and yes I'm a picky snob loyalist. The only oddity was that the dessert on the DDP was a Napolean, which of course sat in the fridge in the room for 2 days along with the left over Orange Chicken! :stir:

It's okay - not terrific. If you MUST have chinese while there, then go. If you can forego than try another spot.

We ate there last of May & loved it. Food was very fresh & tasty. We had a scallion pancake (was not on AllEars menu) for the appetizer, very yummy. Honey Chicken was really good & the guys both had the Fried Rice & loved it.

IMO...it's good...it's good...IT'S GOOD. I don't know why so many people despise Nine Dragons. We've eaten there and loved it. You get a large helping of whatever it is you order.. we really like the sesame chicken. The atmosphere is very soothing with the oriental music piped in and the beautiful decor. We enjoyed it!

The Honey Sesame Chicken is definitely worth trying. It is the ONLY Chinese restaurant my DW will eat at. We like that dish so much we made it at home, once. It takes a lot of time and a lot of different ingredients to prepare it.

We were very pleasantly surprised when we ate there two years ago. Walked in very hungry after several hours of wandering around the World. Sat us right away (this was about an hour before Illuminations), the staff was very friendly, and the food was PF Chang-ish good. A wonderful experience. Finished just in time for the fireworkd and walked outside and found a great spot to watch. It's on our list for our next visit in May '07.

Ate there June 2005, chose to bypass it this year when we were there. Service was great as well as the atmosphere. Food was okay but nothing that we can't get right here at home.

I eat at Nine Dragons every trip. It's one of my favorites. I really love the pot stickers, cucumber salad, and General Tso's chicken. The spicy cha cha beef appetizer (or soemthing like that) is very tasty, but the portion is so small it's not worth the money.
