I heard that the construction walls around restaurant have been taken down. Sounds like they are ahead of schedule, hopefully they will open within the month.

That would be great! I have reservations for that restaurant in January, and it makes me nervous that I haven't been able to read any reviews of the "new" Nine Dragons.

Let me start out by saying "The food at the Nine Dragons is good."

That said, I am looking forward to see if they have made significant changes to their menu and not just cosmetic alterations such as; adding a Mulan-themed stage show. I wouldn't mind if they did (ala Restaurant Marrakesh) but I wish that they had focused on the food behind those wooded construction walls.

As I have already stated the food at the Nine Dragons is good (but remember "good" is also a four-letter-word). Their menu is, in my opinion, prepared cleanly, simply, and unfortunately ends up being quite common. I expect more from EPCOT restaurants. Disney EPCOT restaurants are not merely theme park food. I just hope that they hire or allow a chef to truly create dishes that have layers of taste. Take the chinese cuisine they offered to a more sophisticated level. At least offer a couple of dishes that are outside the gastric-norm.

I admit that I am very picky when it comes to Chinese cuisine. I go down to Chinatown four-five times a month. I know great little hole-in-the-wall restaurants that offer fabulous food (true and unique dishes from various parts of China) at dirt cheap prices. I only hope that Disney does not end up watering down the menu as they did with Akershus (pasta, meatloaf, broiled fish).

Oh well, here to "wishing upon a star"...

We liked the food. For dessert, the Banana Cheesecake Egg Roll that is drizzeled with caramel sauce and served with a scoop of ice cream we liked the best of all the desserts. Never had that anywhere else before. We thought it was the yummiest of all the desserts (we each got different ones).
