Any recent experiences at these locations? I'm debating between a meal at one of these two spots. I'm leaning towards Nine Dragons b/c I've heard some good things as of late and I think the menu is bit better suited towards my daughter. However, I will be there in late August and sushi might be better suited for that weather.

Thanks!

The general take on these two is that you can find good Chinese food in just about any town around the country for much cheaper. Its a bit harder to find Japanese food (beyond sushi).

I love the Honey Sesame Chicken at Nine Dragons, we'll go there specifically to eat this... I also like their chicken potstickers, General Tso Bao Buns, and Caramel Ginger ice cream. I know a lot of people say it is like other Chinese food, but I pretty much hate local Chinese food places and wouldn't go out of my way to ever eat local typical Chinese food. Point of reference, the only "Chinese food" I like is Pei Wei, PF. Chang's, or Nine Dragons all other local places are gross to me. I don't know what it is, I just can't stand them, maybe too greasy or something.

Tokyo Dining, I used to love their shrimp and scallop tempura meal, which they took off their menu a while back, that is what I used to order. I sometimes get their sushi. I'm not really in love with anything they have on the menu anymore. It is ok. I generally like the location and atmosphere more than the food per se.

Have you read over both the menus? Or looked at food photos from both places to see what looks appetizing?

I have read the menus... I think the kids menu is pretty mediocre at Tokyo Dining. Tokyo Dining is one of the few places I haven’t tried. We lived in Boston up until 2 years ago and had the best sushi there so no reason for me to visit. My DD loves potstickers and pork buns, which is why I was thinking Nine Dragons.

We were at Nine Dragons twice in April- a Wednesday lunch (extra delightful because the restaurant was fairly empty) and a Friday dinner (restaurant was full, but service was still very good). DS11 really liked the plain lo mein that came on the kids plate....he had shrimp the first time and honey sesame chicken the second....liked both. I loved the pickled cucumbers and spinach noodles. I wasn't sure about an iced tea that involves Jasmine...but I went for it and found it very refreshing. Vegetable spring rolls were enjoyed by all. Picky DS15 loved the Honey Sesame Chicken.

I can't speak to Tokyo dining.

Thanks for the feedback! I think we are going to go with Nine Dragons. The last time I ate there was maybe 10+ years ago.
