I had someone interested in buying my Nikon AF D 80-200mm D lens to use on his D70. It autofocused only when used on min. aperture, otherwise he got a message of "EE".
What is the EE message and why would it not focus except for locked into f32?

On a D lens you need to lock the aperture ring to control the aperture with the camera (at f32 or whatever f-stop is- it's usually highlighted and there is a little locking tab.) With a G lens you don't need to because there is no aperture ring.

Okay sorry- I re-read your question. I was thinking metering- I have no idea why it would not auto focus.

Thanks.

It focused fine on the N70 on any aperture but on the D70, it only focuses on the min. aperture of f32.

Was wondering if anyone would know if this was specific to the D70. I know this d70 was a refurb so maybe it has it quirks?
