I think that is the most popular brand. Is she particularly rough on things? I ask because I do not see a need for these for the average person. If she does not plan on using a strap then maybe, but most people use straps.
Thanks, She is known to drop things alot more than usual..lol... Why I got her the Otter for her Iphone.
She does use the strap. I mainly wanted it for extra protection on our travels, vacations etc, not for everyday use.
Camera armor is fantastic. I highly recommend it.
The biggest draw back is that the camera feels "meatier" in your hands. Thicker. But you don't necessarily need to worry about bonking it on stuff. I still wouldn't want to do a full drop of the camera, KWIM?
Memorize your buttons though because it can be difficult to read what all the buttons do if you aren't already familiar.
ETA: I forgot the mention... one of the nicest parts of the armor is that it's grippy. So you fingers really hold onto it really nicely. It never feels like you are going to drop the camera.
ukcatfan-Thanks for the pentax review. I'm not sure I want to waiver from my allegiance to canon/nikon right now, but we'll look into it.
Hey Drummerchick,
Congrats on your new D5000, as well as your own Dis ID!!!!
Here is a +-I started some time ago that is kind of a walk through of both my, and others, weekly discoveries, projects, etc... with our new cameras. I also have a D5000, so all of the things that I posted are things that definitely apply to your camera.
Feel free to reopen the thread with any questions, pictures, examples, etc... that you may have.
We look forward to seeing some of your shots.
