Nikon D3 Test Photos

Yeah that ISO25600 is out of control noise wise. But heck, its ISO25600.

1600 and 3200 look great and your right about 6400. I can accept that. If these are true images, then HOLY WOW!!!

EXIFdata shows it was taken at 50mm at f/2.8. Don't know if that would be one of the f/2.8 zooms or the 50mm f/1.4 or f/1.8.

If the D300 is anything like this, then I may have to redirect my fund saving effort.

the iso 6400 on my mk3 is quite amazing. if i then choose +2 ev, it's the equiv of iso 25,600 (or 51,200 at +3EV...). in practice it's not terribly, terribly useful. contrast starts to dissapear at about +1 1/3 and there tends to be quite a bit of chromatic noise (note they're still good for mono shots). note that this is without noise ninja or noiseware. still - it's nice to have a camera that will do it :)

The ISO 3200 images do look good, an improvement over the D2Xs. I still would only use anything higher in extreme circurmstances. The 3200 speed would help on night and indoor sports.
