As some of you may know, Nikki's 12-year-old fur baby Princess had to be put to sleep yesterday. Princess started having trouble moving her back legs and walking. Nikki took her to the vet yesterday and found out that Princess had suffered a stroke and was paralyzed. The vet said that there was nothing more that could be done. The decision was made to put Princess to sleep.

As you can imagine, Nikki is very emotional right now. She has asked me to Thank You for all your love and support and to keep it coming. It has meant a lot to her and has helped.

Nikki, I am so sorry for your loss. Our furry loved ones are our babies and losing them is so very difficult.
2 years ago we had to make the same decision for our 14 year old pound puppy (my beautiful Sasha), she lost all function in her legs. It was heartbreaking, but I held her in my arms and I knew she felt my love and it seemed to calm her.

Oh Nikki, I'm so so sorry for your loss. I didn't know and I wondered and thought about you all day. My heart goes out to you and I know the grief that you are feeling.

I lost my Brittany this past spring. Something that helped me thru my grief was I made a digital photo album of her. I gathered pictures from over the years (some I had to scan into my computer), my DH and i wrote down funny stories, favorite foods, nicknames, etc. and I poured all into a little album. After it was done, I couldn't look at the album for a few months but it really helped my griefing process. Here's a link to it if you care to take a look:

Nikki I am so sorry for your loss. I too have had to do that. It is so hard to lose a furbaby.
