When we stayed at POR we always requested Magnolia Bend.

Do you remember which buildings out of the 4 you've stayed in? I know we stayed in Magnolia Bend at least twice but it was so long ago, I can't remember which buildings. The walk to the food court/buses didn't seem as bad at those buildings because there aren't windy paths like the buildings in AB. I'm thinking I might just request Magnolia bend, Magnolia Terrace looks like the best building out of the 4.

It is crazy how much Epcot has changed. Have you ever seen THIS video? There are a few of this same clip that have been dubbed about Disney. There's one about Le Cellier that's really funny. This is one great for those who remember Epcot back in the 80s and 90s. I love how he's all made about Eric Idle! Oh, be careful though...it's not in English but the subtitles have some very bad words!

Yes, I have seen that one - tooo funny!!! I really miss Horizons and the old Imagination. If you are ever on Itunes, listen to "Disney World in August" by John Pinette. It is too funny!!

This was totally NOT planned but guess what special occasion we will be there for on this trip??? Walt Disney World's 40th Anniversary!!!! I am super excited about this and I hope they put something together like they did for Epcot's 25th. Even if they don't, I'll still be exciting to be in the Magic Kingdom and think, it was 40 years ago today that this place first opened. Know what's weird? I remember Disney World's 25th!! I am getting OLD! Want to know HOW I remember Disney World's 25th? I went there....once in '96 and once in '97 and THIS is what the castle looked like!!

Here's my sister and I in '96. Remember those denim shorts overalls? So hot! But I have to say, I looked significantly better in my '96 pictures than '94!

Hmmm, I don't have many picture from my 1997 trip on my comp, as it was a high school trip and most of the pictures are of random people I haven't spoken to in years so I don't think they would appreciate their picture being posted SOOooooooo, here is what it looked like on that trip...

Now if you liked the castle cake or not, you have to admit, the first picture is much worse....because it's just PINK! And not even all of it! We were always Disney lovers but there was no DISboards back then....there was barely internet back then (well, for us anyway) so we had no idea that our beloved castle was going to be random shades of pink. Can you imagine the unfortunate people who were taking their once in a lifetime trip and THIS was the castle they got??


But I digress......


Have you seen the 40th anniversary merchandise?? I'm very excited about it! Love the retro feel. I remember when that was actually the logo and signage that WDW used!

Oh the pink castle cake.. I can remember it too! At the time, I didn't really mind it; it's only afterwards that it seems to be such an infamous decision by Disney to paint Cinderella's castle that Pepto Bismol colour!

I just read yesterday on Twitter that as the Christmas lights are being taken off the castle, they do seem to be painting parts of it in a very light shade of pink.... let's hope it's not too pink! must be for the 'Let the Memories Begin' campaign

Okay, please tell me I'm not the only one...

Every time the new Disney commercials come on, with the home videos...I totally choke up!! Every. Single. Time. Even though I've seen those commercials a hundred times by now. And I always stop whatever I'm doing and have to watch. The new one with the Christmas surprise just kills me! When the kids first look all shocked, then they start jumping up and down and the mom starts jumping up and down with them. Ugh! Just kills me!! I've said it before but I feel like this campaign is soooo right up my alley! Before this campaign ever started, I would often spend hours looking through youtube videos of people surprising their kids with Disney trips. I guess a lot of people did that, which is probably why Disney decided on this for their campaign.

I know a lot of people are complaining and prefer YOAMD, What Will You Celebrate and Give a Day but I like this best!!! We were there for all the promotions...didn't get ONE dream, we were celebrating our honeymoon and didn't get one perk because now EVERYONE was celebrating something and didn't participate in Give a Day. So you don't actually GET anything with this promotion...who cares?? It's all about showing how happy Disney can make you!! And that's what it's all about!

I have a frame of WDW's 10 year anniversary (not sure why though, I went for the first time in 83, not 81), so I think it's cool that I'm going back the year of the 40th anniversary. :goovibes But yeah, just hope the castle is not pink!
