Haha! They were so funny! Epcot is so different. I remember so much of the old Epcot Center...brings back a lot of memories!

I know, it's crazy! I have to get a picture in that spot with my sister so it can truly be a "then and now." Or maybe I'll do one with my parents and sister in Italy and recreate that one! Oh there's so many!

Your like a Disney envoy Nikki, spreading the word and gathering followers! I know what you mean about being so excited your sister in law 'got' it! I join in with my family's planning parties for their May trip (sad since I'm not going) and my aunt is loving all the excitement although looked at me kinda weird when I gave her a page reference from memory for the Unofficial guide!

LOL!! That might be the funniest thing anyone ever said about me! I love it! Oh and my car is an Envoy!

It really is great though! I was so happy that she showed so much excitement and interest. When she got back, I sent her songs and tidbits about WDW and she was so into it! Normally people roll their eyes. But she is all about emailing me randomly with things like "In 100 days, we can make our ADRS!!" If that is not a WDW convert, I don't know what is!!

Miss the July 2010 board. It's great to see that you are planning another trip. I can't believe that you are almost done all your classes for grad. work already. I am in my 10th year of teaching now and I still have 4 more classes to go. Can't seem to work up the enthusiasm to finish them. Now, if there were classes on planning Disney trips, we would all be set huh? Sorry to hear that Tom lost his job. I am sure that a bit of pixie dust will come your way soon. My daughter is potty training too. Oh boy, what fun that is becoming. I swear my son was so much easier and way faster too. Your pictures from the 90s completely take me back. It made me have to dig up some old photos. My brother in tube socks up to his ankles in the early 80s was the best. Can't wait to read more of your pre-trip report!

Haha! They were so funny! Epcot is so different. I remember so much of the old Epcot Center...brings back a lot of memories!

They are kind of cheesy, but I always enjoy watching them. That is how I introduced my kids to Disney World when they were little. I really miss a lot of the "old" Epcot too!

Aw, thanks for coming! We did have a good July 2010 thread! Fortunately, we are required, in my district, to get our masters before reaching "step 10" on the salary guide or else we are frozen at that step! If it wasn't for that, I probably wouldn't have done it but it's gone so quick and the pay raise is so great that I think I might eventually keep going and get either a second masters or just a +30!

Did you find any old photos! My dad STILL rocks the tube socks!

It is crazy how much Epcot has changed. Have you ever seen THIS video? There are a few of this same clip that have been dubbed about Disney. There's one about Le Cellier that's really funny. This is one great for those who remember Epcot back in the 80s and 90s. I love how he's all made about Eric Idle! Oh, be careful though...it's not in English but the subtitles have some very bad words!

Thanks Cheryl! Isn't Emma the cutest!? Potty training = no fun! I'm just glad I get to play with her and go home at the end of the night!

Terrific.

So this will be the 3rd time that Tom and I are staying at POR together. That does not include the, oh 5 or 6 times I've stayed there with my family, mostly when it was still Dixie Landings. So I'm pretty knowledgeable about this resort.

When Tom and I stayed there in 2006, we were in a pretty "middle of nowhere" room location and on our last trip, we smartened up and put in a request! Building 14...and we got it!! So when Gary and Erin went in October, they requested and got building 14 too!! Wooo Hooo!!!

When I booked this new reservation, I put in the same requests: 14, 18, 27. But what's this I see?? POR now has preferred room locations?? And can you guess which buildings are preferred?? 14, 18, 27. Terrific.

So now I'm worried! I definitely want to call back and put in some other requests but all of the other buildings seem kind of "middle of nowhere." But at least if I put in a request, I can maybe pick which "middle of nowhere" I want. I'm also thinking maybe I'll request to be in Magnolia Bend, which I haven't stayed in since 2000, but I remember we liked that section. I'm not sure which, if any, of those buildings are considered preferred. Hopefully, we'll get some more information so I don't sweat it for the next 8 months!!
