Has anyone done this race before? I am trying to make my travel plans for Sunday after the race and want to know what is the earliest time I can fly out of SFO.

How is the transportation from the finish line back to the start line? Do you have to wait a long time to catch a bus back to the start line? How long is the ride?

I'm running the half and it starts at 7. I will need to take the shuttle back to the start line, shower & check out of the hotel, and take the train to the airport. Is it reasonable for me to catch a 1pm flight from SFO?

Thanks for any feedback.

I did the half two years ago. I waited for a couple of friends who walked and took 3.5 hours to finish. There was a massive and slow moving line for shuttle buses. I think that trying to catch a 1 pm flight will be really close.

The train from the airport to a station close to Union Square takes about 30 minutes I would say.

Also, my mom raced last year, and I think she said it took her nearly half an hour to cross the start line..??

I've run this race the last 4 years, I didn't get in this year.

Remember to check in warm clothes for the finish, the bus line may be long depending on how fast you finish. If you finish in a couple of hours the bus line should be short and the ride to Union Square is about 15 - 20 minutes. BART ride to the airport (BART drops you off at the International terminal, so the walk to other terminal is about 15 minutes) is about 30 minutes, but it is Sunday so make sure you ask the front desk for the schedule. check here:

Have fun!
