I was looking through the 07 Unofficial Guide and it mentioned that Disney is looking to develop a nighttime parade with lanterns. They said they're working with the same guy who designed "Wishes"...anyone else heard about this?

Havent heard this but it would be pretty cool. I imagine with EE being open, this park could handle being open later now. The only attraction that would have to close would be KS.

You Mean As In KS Closing Earlier Right?

Wouldn't that keep the animals awake? They need their beauty rest.

:wave2:

Doesn't Busch Gardens stay open late?

When if first opened, AK did close later than it does now. The time was changed in response to the demand.

Some zoos and animal parks are open until 9pm, and I think even 10pm, so at least at this point, the animals are not what is driving the closing time.

In order to become a viable nightime park, AK needs some combination of more popular attractions and more sit-down dining options.

Several years ago we went on a night safari to see the animals. They had a handheld searchlight with a second CM up frront! It was great!
Wish they would do that again! The animals were very active at night :thumbsup2

Not many zoos stay open that late. Animals are generally kept inside after hours so they don't keep them open that late usually. But once you get more "attractions" in this park it will stay open. Although its possible the animal exhibits will not.

All the animals do go into their night time places but think of the merchandizing. Everyone would be buying reflecting mickey shirts and mickey lanters as souvenirs.
