So we visit lots of amusement parks during the summer and I always enjoy buying our 5yo son those night time toys. You know, the ones that twirl and light up, or glow in the dark swords, etc.... We normally purchase them and take them back to the park with us on subsequent nights.

So what cool night time toys are they selling in the parks?

Thanks!

The coolest one I saw in March was something that you have to twirl around and it has words that light up into a saying. I forget what they said, but it was definately really cool. They remind me of waiting for Fantasmic! at MGM while doing the wave. I was suckered in and had to buy one :)

We saw Fantasmic on my birthday. I was wearing my MK birthday pin and a great CM who was selling all that stuff before the show began, wished me a happy birthday. When I looked up to say thanks, she had modified the spinning thing's message to say Happy Birthday in the lights. Guess they can store a few messages, because later she changed it to something like Let's Party or something. GREAT GISMO!

DD7 and I loved the pink Mickey (Minnie) light up headband. It looks like car antenna Mickey balls, but pink and light up! CUTE!!!

they have really neat sun glasses that light up (they come in a few diff colors), your standrad flower, the light sowrd (my personal fave great for wars with siblings (we used to duel with them at home after the trip!) Spinning Mickeys, Buzz lightyears etc, your basic glow in the dark necklaces (buy these at the dollar store ahead of time!) There are other items as well that I cannot think of.

Of course my son has the flashlight sword and a Buzz light spinner but the coolest are the glow ice cubes. We have so much fun with these.

We have the light spinners (Sorcerer Mickey, Buzz and Stitch) and we also have some light up Mickey wands that are very cool! :wizard:

When my husband and I went in October of 2003... one of the CM's had that word spinner thing with "Yankees Suck" going around....

I am sure it didn't last too long, but needless to say, my husband bought one right away!
I am going with just my 10yr old in June... and my 6 yr old has already asked for a spinner toy!
Buzz and Mickey were a big hit during our wait at Fantasmic in 2000.

I think the light up things that you can type words on are also available on E-bay. I don't know if they are cheaper though. I want one, and will probably buy one for the kids, so that I can play too. :earboy2:

Same here...mmm, night toys....ahhh

Who knows...they could be considered 'attractions' too.;) :rotfl:

ON the original poster's actual meaning, though, we managed to talk the kids out of them last year, by bringing some of our own, but I get the sneaky feeling that they may be more insistent this year....

great minds think alike, jokingly thought to myself when I
saw this thread "you can get advice on this board for
anything...such helpful people!" buzzzzzzzzzzz
no wonder everyone's smiling at WDW!

I've noticed that they have most of the same spinny things at both WDW and the Disney Store, and they are a few dollars cheaper at the Disney Store so you may want to get some there before your trip.
