Using a Canon S3IS, what are the best settings to use for hand-held night shooting around WDW? Can I use an existing setting in the camera, or do I need to create a custom setting?

Many thanks....

Again, keeping the camera still for night shots will go a long way toward getting decent pictures if you're not using a flash and if you're subjects aren't moving (if they are, it will be very tough not to get blur). I've done it with that camera but it takes a good understanding of some basic principles of photography as well as how to use your particular camera and settings. You can also go up on the ISO but the more you do, the more noise (grain) you will get, so stay as low as you can. Really, best bet is to practice staying very still for handheld night shots. Go around your nearest city at night before your trip to practice and see what works and what doesn't.

You might also want to pick up a copy of Understanding Exposure.

Good luck.

PS somewhere around here there is a long running thread on the Canon S3IS if you do a search. Lots of tips and examples there.
