We've never been to Night of Joy before, but our vacation time this year lined up with the dates, so we're thinking of trying it out.

While we like most of the artists on the lineup, we'll probably want to stay and see the biggest shows on the Main stage. We have a son with Cerebral Palsy in a wheelchair, so it will be hard to navigate the crowds back and forth between the stages.

So...how soon should we be there to stake out our spots? We don't have to be in the front, but we have to be in a place where my son can see the stage, and not people's backs.

Also, anyone know the details about accessible viewing areas?

Thanks for the info.

There is a set aside area for those in wheelchairs in front of the castle. You need to line up as early as possible to the side on the bridge to the right of the castle as you face it. THis area is also shared by the deaf for interpreting so please be aware and allow any guests that need interpreting access to the interpreters. They are on a stage to the right of the main stage. Last year it was really hard because guests in wheelchairs refused to allow me through to the area for interpreting and I was unable to see them from the back as I am in a wheelchair myself as well as needing interpreting. I was told I could watch front the back. Sure and look at butts and not get the words at all.

That's terrible Talking Hands :( You would think there would be Disney officials in that area making sure accommodations were being made. Especially for the hearing impaired. I mean - it's a CONCERT, if you can't "hear" what they're saying, there isn't much point to being there. That's a shame. :worried:

Rachel it worked out ok in the long run because I was allowed to park on the ramp in the area reserved for the radio people and their families. It was sweet of them to allow me their. I could see the interpreters from there although it isn't the best view. I am going to be early to the castle this year and all the performers I requested are performing at the castle so I should be fine.
