I have been enjoying reading all of your Fort Wilderness updates and suggestions for a while now.
My husband and I are going for our first trip to FW in June. We will be driving down on Friday evening and I want to be as close as possible for checking in early on Sat. morning.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a cheap but clean hotel for Friday night?
We will get in late and leave early so we don't need anything fancy. Just clean and somewhere to park our pop up and tow vehicle.

Thanks!

What part of SC will you be coming from..? When we come down I-95, we somtimes stay at the Quality Inn in Elkton, FL the night before. It's at exit 311, and is about 2 hours from The Fort. They do have an RV parking area - not paved, but easy enough to get in and out of. It was very clean and comfy enough for us, and is problably around $60 w/AAA. Free internet access, free continental breakfast, and free homemade cookies at night..!

If you are looking for something closer, I cant really comment - coming from Ohio, it takes us a bit longer to get there so I just find a place that is about 2 hours out the night before arrival day. Many people have raved about Turkey Lake Campground in Orlando, so if you would like to get really close, you might want to check it out...
