Just missed the tapings=/ My 10 yo so bummed! we are heading there this weekend and they finished today , no more tapings until Sept!

My 1 son is 5 also, so I would like an answer to that question too. Also if they are not taping (Over the summer months) do they still have something so my kids can get slimed?

I just called and they have not been provided a schedule from the Nic producers. I will try back in August.

They also indicated that most children of any age are welcom. I do not think the audience is limited.

Our family did Summer Slime Live on Monday, August 11. Summer Slime Live is in production M-F, 6-8pm until August 29th.

Tickets are distributed at 1:00pm by the "cow" pole (support pole painted like a cow) at the far end of the queing lines by the studio. It is the cow pole closest to the building. We got there at 11:30am and were about 20th in line.

Production runs from 6-8 pm. First half of the line received tickets for the 6-7 portion of the show, second half of the line received tickets for the 7-8 portion.

The early seating had to report at 5:30pm, the 2nd seating had to report by 6:40pm. If you are in the 1st seating, I would suggest getting there early. We arrived at 5:00 and were about 40th in line. You want to be able to sit on the bottom row of the bleachers if you can. The children on the bottom row were the ones who were selected to be the kids who hold the noodles and wave them during each part of summer slime live. They surround the hosts and the games waving their noodles. Consequently, since they are on the floor for every part of the taping, they get the most air time. I don't know if it worked the same way with the 2nd seating, but that is how it worked with our seating.

Only children 10 and older were allowed on the set. Younger kids were issued viewing tickets to sit in the audience. Only one adult could accompany (and was required to accompany the kids) onto the live taping set. If you tape inside, the viewing area has actual seats and is right in front of the set - great view! If you are taping outside, the viewing area is standing room only. And it is rather easy for the public to get back there, so it is quite crowded. Our taping was inside, however, they moved outside for the second half of our show.

Promptly at 1:00, tickets were issued on a first come / first serve basis. On-camera kids were given one set of tickets and younger siblings were given the viewing tickets. We got to wait for the tickets under the queing line cover with all the misters right there. They actually have roped off the back section of the game show queing lines just for Summer Slime Live. It was the coolest spot in Universal that day!

When we lined up at 5:30, the stage crew asked for all people with blue tickets to follow them to the area in front of the lines. Most tickets were green, but a few families had blue tickets. The blue tickets were the randomly selected families that were guaranteed to exit the show covered in green slime. But don't assume you are safe if you don't have a blue ticket. Whole sections of the audience had buckets dumped on them:D

Just FYI, one of the stage managers mentioned that only the first half group had the blue tickets. This allowed plenty of time to get waivers signed and instructions given. So, if you want a chance to sit in the slime-a-nator, make sure you are in the ticket distribution line early.

There were no auditions for the games. The stage manager told us that during the cuts to Summer Slime Live, the upstairs people were watching all the kids. They would radio down to the stage manager which kids should be selected. We were told that they were looking for kids with lots of enthusiasm, big smiles and kids who were watching the stage manager and following directions. Between live cuts, the stage manager would come over and tell us that another kid was selected and then point them out. So you never knew when or if you would be selected.

I don't want to ruin the fun of the production by going into too much detail, so I will end here. I will be glad to answer any questions if anybody has them.

Hi, I don't pay much attention to the shows, but the kids do. Is this summer slime live actually live on the air, or is it just a pretend show that isn't really on? I think I have seen it this summer, but I wondered. Is this something that i should have somebody at home tape it while we are there? I guess I could have them tape from 6-8 on the days we are there. Would that cover it? If they actually got on the air it would be coolest to have it vcr'ed. Problem is, my kids can be really loud and obnoxious, just not when I want them to be! So they probably would be all quiet and not get picked. We'll be there in a week!

Yes, it is definitely a live thing that is aired on Nickelodeon. It is actually segments that are filmed during the commercial breaks of the regular Nick programming. Therefore, you won't be able to find it if you look in a TV guide, but it is definitely on-air and live. I had somebody tape it at home for the kids to watch when we got back.

Also, since it is just a few minutes during every commercial break, you only have a few on-air segments during the hour that you are there. When we were there, we had a filmed segment approximately every 10 minutes. But the off-air time was great fun too.

Last September '02 we took our annual trip down to Disney. Of course, no trip is complete without a visit to Universal.

So the first thing I did was go to Guest Services to find out what time the taping for the show would be, and if I had children who wanted to try to get picked as a contestant I would have to go earlier.

We showed up behind the Green geyser sometime in the early afternoon. The stars of the show came out and asked all the kids who wanted a shot at being a contestant to line up against this 10 foot fence. Then they were told to pick a number or something like that. It was one of the stars idea's. I guess every day they do something else to determine who will be a contestant.

Anyway, one of my daughters was picked. One parent is allowed to go into the studio with them, where they fill out paperwork saying that they give their child permission to be on the show.

Then I called everyone me and my kids knew to tell them to watch that afternoon. I had also programmed the VCR at the timeshare to tape the show, even if my kids didn't get picked, because I figured at least we would be in the audience. I've done it twice before, it's so funny to see the kids. One year the kids were standing right next to Little Bow Wow while he was singing Bounce. It was really funny watching them wave their hands/arms in the air for 3 minutes. All the kids looked like their arms weighed 1000 pounds!

Anyway, after I filled out the paperwork, Tori and the other kids were sent into a changing room and given a T-shirt and nylon pants (she was purple) and I was allowed to accompany my husband and my other daughter into the studio audience section. A few minutes later, Tori and the other kids came out with the stars of the show, which now I remember to be the stars of All That. I didn't care for one girl too much because she took a chocolate pudding and threw it in my face and ruined a $50 white tank top I was wearing. I've been to that show 4 times and if it weren't for that red headed brat, I would have come out unscathed 4 times.

So We're watching, and clapping, and waiting, and watching and clapping and waiting (in between shows, we came on during the commercials)
and Tori kept winning the little games that they make the contestants play.
Well, me and my husband had dinner reservations for the California Grill and we were to drop the kids off at the Never Land Club and it's getting later and later and later and Tori keeps winning the contests and Eddie keeps telling me, She better lose because I don't want to miss our dinner reservations! and I'm trying to explain, how often will our daughter be playing a game show on live television???

So she wound up losing, of course, because her father was jinxing her!:p

So after she lost that round of games, it was around 5:00, they said if anyone wants to leave, they could. They took Tori in the back to wash the purple slime off and they had told her if she wanted to purchase the sweat outfit she was wearing it would be $15. She said no because she thought I would say no, but I told her she should have said yes, and if I didn't want her to have it I would have said no to the lady. But I thought it would have been a cool souvenier for her! It was definitely worth the $15.

So then we left. On the way out they gave the girls a super cool goodie bag which included a pocket radio and a lot of candy and other stuff I can't remember. And then I went to the little souvenier shop outside of the Nickelodeon studios and purchased the same purple shirt for her.

What was awesome is that after I called some people back home on my cell phone, they formed a telephone chain and almost all of her classmates, friends and cousins saw her on the show. They also saw me and my husband and my other daughter Kyra in the stands.

I would say that the experience was Totally Awesome! I think I enjoyed it just as much as she did. We plan on doing it again, but this year we're not going into the studios except for Halloween Horror Night, and that's without the kids.

You have to call Nickelodeon Studios in Florida to find out the schedule. One time I got the schedule on the Universal Studios website, just look for the word schedule and click it. Their site changes often, so I'm not sure if they have that link still

To find out what's "in production" upon your arrival, visit the Studio Audience Center located to the right of the main entrance turnstiles to Universal Studios Florida®. For future production scheduling, please call the Studio Audience Hotline at (407) 224-4233 Option 5.

How did you know what time to record it when you were there ??My kids are talking about it and i just wanted to program to tape it before we go just in case they get picked. Thanks-I assume nick channel but what time?

Did you call them to see if they're taping? I've noticed that they now have U-Pick Live from New York City on from 4 - 6 every afternoon. Slime Time Live used to be on from 3 - 6 every afternoon.
I just programmed the VCR at the timeshare to tape the local Nickelodeon channel from 2:30 to 6:30, just in case. This way I got the commercials before the show, which was great because one of my daughters was sitting next to the host and she was on TV.
Before you start setting up the VCR just check to see if they'll be taping first.
Have a Great Time!!!!!

I called this morning and I was told they have discontinued filming slime time. Dont know if this is forever or what, but they do still have the "Game Lab."

Patty

Oh my kids will be sad but i didn't really want to stand in line all day. What goes in the game lab?

The game lab is fun, too, but only a select few can play. It's at the conclusion of the Nickelodeon tour. Everyone goes into an area where you have a seat and the host picks a couple families to try-out different stunts you might see on Double Dare or Slime time live. A few kids get slimed, too, but the only difference is you're not on television. But it's great. you get to see how they make slime and how they construct their sets, etc.
Have a Great Time!
