Hi Everyone,

It will be our first family holiday out of the counry and we are thinking of booking at the Nickelodeon Hotel.

Any opinions ffrom anyone who has stayed there? What is the food like? Would we need a car, or is the shuttle service enough?

Any thoughts are much appreciated. I am stressing huge about making these decisions!

Thanks

I visited some friends staying there, several years ago. Their young daughter and my young son were thrilled with the amenities and theming, of course!

As an adult, I thought the rooms/living room were very small -- almost claustrophobic.

If you're looking to wow your kids, you will succeed! If you want something for the grownups, too, like space and relaxing decor, look elsewhere.

Totally agree!

It's not bad for a day or two if you want to please the kids, but there is no way I would survive a week long vacation there. Even two days was more than enough for me.

We found that there were several food options, none of them would be considered "yummy".

We did not use the shuttle service, so I can't comment on that.

Hope this helps!

We just came back from Nick Hotel and the kids loved it. I found the rooms to be large enough and comfy. The food wasn't great. The shuttle service was good. The buses leaved hourly for Disney, but you had to get a bus ticket from guest services for the time you wanted to leave. For Universal, the bus times were more limited- I think there were 2 buses that left in the morning, and 2 that returned at the end of the day.

I have been 2x for a week each. The kids love it and I do too. The rooms are not that small. If you figure it out, they are split up. the kids room is not HUGE but it is enough. The master is good sized and the LR/Kitchen is fine too. They are certainly bigger than a hotel room where everyone is lumped into one area. At least you can spread out. You don't spend that much time in the room anyway so who cares. As long as you have enough room to sleep you are fine and here versus a hotel room, you sleep in your own space. The food is ok. They had changed the kids eat free thing this year vs last year and we ate off site more and for better prices. I always rent a car for the convenience and that way I can get around. Everything has signs so you really can't get lost. We do a Walmart run and get waters and breakfast things and snacks so it is convenient to just drive ourselves around. I won't spend the extra money to stay on site again with this hotel so close. The kids amenities are better and we have much more fun. It can be a little crazy but even when the hotel is completely full, I have never thought it was out of control.

We stayed at the Nick Hotel for 1 week in August. We enjoyed it very much. The food is OK, nothing great. There is a PizzaHut and an A&W where you can get Pizza and Burgers, too.

We drove to FL, so we had our car. The shuttler service to Disney is about every hour, the service to US is much less frequent. Here are the bus schedules:

Disney Bus Schedule

Universal, SeaWorld Bus Schedule

During our stay we spent two days just at the hotel. The pools are great, there a plenty of things to keep the kids entertained.

The rooms are very nice and were large enough for the five of us.

Hope this helps.
