Has anyone stayed at the Nickelodeon Family Suites? I don't think its really a Universal related resort much, but yeah. I've done much research on the resort. I've read two trip reports on it on the DIS. But I am still pretty scared. I've heard some good reviews but also a lot of bad reviews. (feces in the pool, bad food, dirty rooms, etc). Can anyone give me a bit more info on the resort, if you have stayed there? Thanks!

We stayed at Nick Suites and our kids had a great time. Our room was clean, the service was fine. We only ate there once for the character breakfast and I don't recall the food but I'd have remembered if it was bad.
They had movies by the pool in the evenings, great theming everywhere and my kids had always wanted to stay there (dang tv commercials). We spent 6 days here and the only drawback here is a huge one for us. We did not drive and relied on their shuttle system. You had to book your bus the night before, and the last bus back to the resort was 2 hours before the park closed (universal). There was only 1 service to and from Seaworld and no mid day buses at all. Once you went to the park, you were there until 6 unless you called a cab ($30 for 4 people). I wouldn't stay there any other time, especially w/o a car but my kids were glad we did then. If you are going to universal, you're better off on site. Have a Great trip!

Mmm, we're still not sure if we are going to any theme parks. But thank you so much for your review about it.:thumbsup2

We stayed there when it first opened and had a very good time. The kids loved it but I thought it was a shame that we spent so much time at Disney we didn't get to enjoy the hotel. It would be a great choice if you were not going to the theme parks and just wanted to stay and hang out at the hotel.

We're staying there next week, and will be going to US/IOA and Sea World. We'll be driving but had planned on using the shuttle service or a cab. Will have to rethink that and do some more investigating on our options. I'll be sure and post a review of the resort when we get back!

I stayed there 2 years ago, and stayed in one of the kid suites. My son had an absolute blast and I found the pina coladas to be very satisfactory ;)

My description of this hotel to other people is that it's a Holiday Inn on LSD. VERY bright and colorful. The pool was great for my kid, who has a lot of energy, and between the arcade, the kids club, the family activities it was a fun hotel. I saved it for the last 3 days of my trip for when I wanted to relax and not run around to theme parks or whatever.

It is a clean and adequate hotel room - there was a fridge and a microwave and a little sink in the kitchen area. If you are not going to spend much time at the hotel because of theme parks, I would rethink that strategy - if you stay here and you have kids, definitely plan on alot of time at the hotel. The kids have a blast and you get to relax. I would not, however, classify this as a luxury hotel.
