Ok, a big thank ya very much (NOT) to Nickolodeon for blasting their hotel ad every 5 seconds, such that my kids think it's the ONLY place to go. We are headed to Orlando in August, with a nice club-level room booked at RPRH for 3 nts, then 7 nts at OKW to do the Disney-side of life. I told my DH that the Nick hotel isn't an on-site hotel and we would sacrifice the on-site privies, like FOTL. He's ok with that... but the kids - not so sure!
So here's a question - are the perks and "personality" of RPRH such that my family is getting the "better" deal? My kids are 11,9,and 6. Not huge Nick fans (probably the only show they watch is Fairly Odd Parents and Spongebob). I do NOT want any electronic games in the room (that's why we are on VACATION together - to pry 'em away from it, LOL!) Not sure what I would do with the 3rd kid in a Nick suite anyway - are they 3 kids going to fight over who stays in the kid room? (It has 2 twin beds right?)
I think I have the "better deal" with RPRH-club (although pricier, I'm sure!) Yet I also do see their points about the pools. The Nick resort seems to have a veritable water park goin' on. I think if we weren't going to US/IOA and just hanging out in a hotel, it could be fun. Maybe next summer, on our way down to VEro Beach and Cape Canaveral, we can pit-stop and do Sea World and stay at the Nick hotel. How are the accommodations there? Frankly, I've never been too overly impressed with HI hotels (except maybe the recent Holiday Inn Express line). A lot of them are pretty tired - I would imagine a resort like Nick suites would get pretty beaten up - or do they really keep it looking good?
Meanwhile, can someone back me up on this - is on-site the better way to go for doing US/IOA? I'm second-guessing myself! We are only visiting the parks for 3 days and I just figured that, since it's early August, lines might be bad and we would want that FOTL privy more than cartoon painted walls and bigger pools. Right or wrong?
THANKS!!!
